350-400 hours into OpenClaw over the last 33 days non-stop, no days off...I'm ready to quit. My openclaw is fucking lost in the weeds every day today and it's driving me nuts. Basic shit. I asked it to use GitHub. it has a GitHub skill. We have a GitHub SOP. I can see it's thinking process about using skills, then narrating how the skill doesn't exist, then going and inventing ways to retrieve the capability to use GitHub from the internet. I tell it to look in the openclaw docs for the proper skill path, it says "oops my bad, yeah it was there after all." This is ChatGPT 5.4 with extra high thinking turned on. I ask it to diagnose the problem only, so it goes and sees the system prompt is telling it to look at the wrong place, and it goes to GitHub and opens a GitHub issue about this 'bug' without even asking me. What the actual fuck. 3 hours on a Sunday of trying to rewire the brain of my openclaw to do default-behaviour. This thing such a productivity suck & mental poison. I can't do anything useful or positive with OpenClaw because I'm nonstop fighting fires in the engine room. I'm thinking about giving up.

@mirthtime @alphafox you are a true deadbeat (which society frown upon more than even those who choose not to have kids). There is so much propaganda surrounding what being a father is/should be vs what it always was historically.

My weekly Opus 4.6 has reset After being forced to use ChatGPT for most of last week ... omg the difference between Opus and GPT is night & day. I can't stand working with a GPT powered claw. The personality is extremely triggering and it gets into stalled loops constantly.

I hooked this up to a peer-to-peer astrophysics researcher agent which gossips and collaborates with other such agents (and your openclaws) to: 1. Learn how to train an astrophysics model (@karpathy's work below) 2. Train a new astrophysics model 3. Use it to write papers 4. Peer agents based on frontier lab models critique it 5. Surface breakthroughs ... and then feed back in the loop ... More agents join, from the browser or the CLI, and run this, the smarter and more exciting breakthroughs would eventually emerge. When these agents are idle, they are also reading daily tech news with their own RSS reader, and commenting on each other's thoughts. And they can also serve the underlying machine's compute to other agents on the network, and earn social credit for being good actors (think BitTorrent). We also prove the agent has the compute it says by cryptographic verification of regular matmul challenges. All you have to do is either go on this website (and it creates an agent which runs from your browser), or install the CLI if you want to give the system more juice. And you are part of likely the first experimental distributed agi thing. This is Day 1, but this is how it starts.. this network is fully peer-to-peer, and, very volatile, but the intelligence here is meant to compound continuously.. agents.hyper.space curl -fsSL agents.hyper.space/cli | bash

I packaged up the "autoresearch" project into a new self-contained minimal repo if people would like to play over the weekend. It's basically nanochat LLM training core stripped down to a single-GPU, one file version of ~630 lines of code, then: - the human iterates on the prompt (.md) - the AI agent iterates on the training code (.py) The goal is to engineer your agents to make the fastest research progress indefinitely and without any of your own involvement. In the image, every dot is a complete LLM training run that lasts exactly 5 minutes. The agent works in an autonomous loop on a git feature branch and accumulates git commits to the training script as it finds better settings (of lower validation loss by the end) of the neural network architecture, the optimizer, all the hyperparameters, etc. You can imagine comparing the research progress of different prompts, different agents, etc. github.com/karpathy/autor… Part code, part sci-fi, and a pinch of psychosis :)

Elon Musk
Elon Musk@elonmusk·
This will be big
Teslaconomics@Teslaconomics

I don’t think people truly understand what’s about to happen with 𝕏 Money. This is Elon going back to his roots - back to x.com - and building what he always wanted in the first place: one place that runs your entire financial life. When he rebranded Twitter to 𝕏 in 2023, he said straight up that we’re adding the ability to conduct your entire financial world. He even said you may not even need a traditional bank account. Most people brushed that off. And now it’s becoming real. 𝕏 Money has already been live in closed beta internally within the company. A limited external beta is expected soon, and they’ve already secured money transmitter licenses in over 40 states plus DC. 𝕏 Payments is registered with FinCEN. Visa is officially partnered. You’ll be able to fund your wallet instantly, send peer-to-peer payments, move money to your bank, and eventually use a debit card. And I think this is just the beginning. This will probably start as a simple wallet where you can send money as easily as sending a DM. With this technology, you can pay creators, pay subscriptions, pay whatever bills, shop inside the app, get paid inside the app, and much more. Then, there will be high-yield savings, you can invest, you can get loans, have money market accounts, maybe even treasury access, cool smart cashtags that let you see live stock prices in your timeline and execute trades seamlessly, crypto integration, potentially full asset management… the list goes on and on… Elon literally said this is meant to be the central source of ALL monetary transactions. Bro… think about that for a sec. Your 𝕏 profile becomes your financial identity. Everyone you follow is already there. Everyone you interact with is already there. That social graph becomes your distribution engine. Like, you won’t need a separate banking app, no need for a separate investing app, no need for a separate payment app… this all lives where you already spend your time. Right here on 𝕏. Look at WeChat in China, which Elon always alluded to. Payments, messaging, shopping, investing - all integrated in one app. It handles $ trillions in volume and became deeply embedded in everyone’s daily life. Now 𝕏 is building the Western version of that, but with a more global reach, and xAI’s AI layered on top of all this. Before you call me crazy, you have to understand how big this opportunity is. Digital payments globally are measured in the tens of $ trillions of dollars annually. Even just capturing a small slice of that across hundreds of millions, and eventually a billion, users can change everything. 𝕏 already has the audience. That lowers customer acquisition costs significantly. Add fintech revenue on top of ads, plus float, plus lending, plus investing tools, and we’re talking about a completely different valuation profile. Now, $44B for this company looks like the bargain of the decade… this was one of the main reasons I invested in 𝕏. And if they execute the way they’ve executed at Tesla and SpaceX, this could truly fundamentally redefine how people handle $ . Most people today still see 𝕏 as just a social media app. I see it as the foundation of a financial system layered on top of a global network. Ultimately becoming the “everything” app. And this I believe is a once-in-a-generation opportunity. Elon is calling this a game-changer. I believe him.

@resistancemoney who, in your opinion is doing a good job of wrestling with questions at the emerging intersection of ai and faith/church? I think there’s a lot to think about.

I worry about the dissociative impact of such rapid AI change on the human brain. Was at a cafe earlier today and someone was talking to their friend about them starting a Master's degree. Then I left the cafe and another person on a walk was talking about their plans to stay at their current job because they want to work their way up the ladder. Two mundane sounding examples, yet to the AI-pilled brain, both scary. Neither of these people will get the reward they think they will from their current effort. What does that look like when multiplied a billion fold across the entire human population? People are planning for futures that won't exist anything like they think it will... The difference between their simulated version of the future and how it will actually play out is enormous.

@BITC_minimalist You don't think the quantum risk engenders, or should engender, Fear, Uncertainty, or Doubt? I think it's fine to feel those at first, but our considered response should be resistant action, rather than something more goofy. x.com/resistancemone…
Andrew M. Bailey@resistancemoney

The wise response to quantum computing risks for bitcoin isn't to panic, or to sell, or to enter some cultic FUD-busting reverie. It is, rather, what you'd do with any system under any technological risk: channel resources towards making it more resistant.

AI slop is disrespectful. It signals to an audience: you should spend your own life consuming what I didn't find valuable enough to write myself. My time is precious; yours is not. Slop harms its creators too, because it provides cheap, unearned dopamine hits. Fake. Sad.
