it's so funny to me how, whenever americans describe things that are bad about life here, europeans say that we're "gleeful" or "bragging." i just would have thought that if anyone would recognize existential despair, it would be them.

I get extreme tingling sensations in my nose, like I’m about to sneeze, but it never comes, it just builds without the release. My eyes feel a lot of pressure and burning. My tears literally burn the skin right under my eyes. It’s why I get pink splotches on my face. I’m burning!

I’ve never personally understood crying as catharsis. It’s never been healing or a release. It’s a painful experience for me. It physically hurts me to cry. I know it’s good for you, but I gotta be honest, it hurts. I need to know how common this is, so I’ve been asking people.
