Dear Railways (Reels) Minister, it is imperative that you delete this post of yours. It showcases your lack of medical science literacy, and the utter lack of basic health literacy of the Railways team currently working under you. At least ask your PR team to take advice from a doctor or some medical health professional (non-Ayush) before you post something as idiotic as this. CPR or cardiopulmonary resuscitation is an emergency procedure that helps restart breathing and a person's heartbeat when they have stopped. Before starting CPR, check: -Is the environment safe for the person? -Is the person conscious or not conscious? -If the person appears to be not conscious, tap or shake their shoulder and ask loudly, "Are you OK?" -If the person doesn't respond and you're with someone else who can help, have one person call the local emergency number and get an automated external defibrillator (AED) if one is available. -Please note, start CPR only in an unconscious patient. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation should never be performed on a conscious patient as it is designed for individuals who are unconscious and not breathing. Again, in case you or your trained staff did not understand, "If a person is conscious and breathing, even if they are experiencing discomfort, do not initiate CPR." This video is ALL SORTS OF WRONG. The railway person is harming the patient. His chest compressions are wrong, crude and he is impairing the chances of spontaneous breathing and increasing the risk of rib fractures and chest trauma. What utter nonsense is this? Also, he stole a kiss from the passenger without his consent, in the name of "treatment." He should be booked for criminal offence. Is this some kind of fetish from your staff? In India, kissing someone without consent would be considered a crime under the law of sexual harassment, specifically falling under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC, now BNS) - essentially, any non-consensual physical contact, including a kiss, can be considered sexual assault and is punishable by law. Delete this abomination. It is a request from a citizen. We already have so much disgrace to deal with as a nation. Read about CRP properly please. Breaking: Our magnum opus, the most exhasutive review on complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) and the liver is out now in @HepCommJournal journals.lww.com/hepcomm/fullte… We thank @ebtapper for inviting us on behalf of The American Association of the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) and helping us prepare the content topics/outline to write on, with full freedom and beyond the word limits, to make this paper a powerhouse in educational value. Not many chief journal editors would want this topic to be written upon, fearing backlash from the alternative medicine community. This paper is like a breath of fresh air among hepatology publications. Our paper is unique because it is black and white, avoids ambiguity and contains sections on understanding various types of CAM and its definitions, its use across the world, global level of regulations and pharmacovigilance networks that are in place to check for adverse events (you'll be surprised at what is happening in Asian continent). We discuss impact of CAM causing liver injury and clinical outcomes including death or liver transplantation, describe the pattern/severity of liver injury, the toxicology and chemical analysis of retreived traditional and propreitary herbal products (including Homeopathy). Toxicology analysis of CAM products in India was a brainchild of our unit and the core of my work which helped us unlock a lot of facts about potentially dangerous Ayush medications. At the projects peak, we analysed over 350 formulations paying from our own salary for the education of patients and community. We recently sunset this project due to extreme costs and lack of self funding. But our selfless work was paid back in the form of authoritative and disruptive pro-public peer-reviewed publications on alternative medicine (especially Ayurveda and liver injury) from our group, which over the years, have helped us get invitations from influential academic groups to teach about and write educationally of this topic, that other doctors in India would fear to write on or Indian journals would dread to publish. A special section is dedicated to discussing emerging herbal threats to the liver and also a cool discussion on the "myths on herbals beneficial for the liver." This work is a culmination of everything we have been doing since more than half a decade on the topic of CAM and the liver. My co-authors are Homeopathy and Ayurveda practitioners who are now deep into clinical research, leaving behind their pseudoscience practice lives. @arifhussaintm leads the team. Their work shines through in this paper. Please read and share this paper widely. It will mean a lot to us who spend weeks and months researching, preparing and writing it, and also deservingly values scientific astuteness of influential journals like @HepCommJournal who remain unbiased and visceral in publishing topics that were once considered controversial, but are extremely important, for not only the physicians, but also the public. The past two years have been the most fulfilling in my life. Under the leadership of CM @mkstalin, I presented one revised budget (’21 - ’22) during the pandemic, and two annual budgets (’22 – ’23, ’23 – ’24) post-pandemic. Despite inheriting record deficits and debt ratios, we have invested in a record number of social welfare schemes as well as record capital spending, all while delivering record-setting fiscal improvements. This is the epitome of my public service, and indeed of my life. While fiscal consolidation and social spending are necessary steps for an equitable society, the drivers of development and growth are investment, enterprise expansion and job-creation. I am grateful that CM @mkstalin has now assigned me the portfolio of Information Technology – globally the #1 industry for investment and job-creation today. We know that technology shapes the future. Though Tamil Nadu was a pioneer in this field in Thalaivar Kalaignar’s time, we have unfortunately lagged our true potential in this sector in the last decade or so. I plan to build on the great efforts of my predecessor @manothangaraj to attract more investments, accelerate job-creation, and deliver growth at a pace that will re-establish Tamil Nadu as a leading state in IT. I hope my own experience in establishing and managing a pioneering Global Capability Centre 15 years ago, and the connectivity with the IT & ITES Industry gained during my professional career, will enrich my efforts in this new role. I wish the incoming Finance Minister @TThenarasu great success and many more achievements as he assumes responsibility today. I am sure he will accelerate the progress already made and deliver new records in his tenure.
