Why isn’t she more upset??” Erika Kirk seen laughing: “What’s so funny? Her husband just died!” Erika Kirk seen frowning: “Why’s she scowling like that? What’s she so angry about???” Erika Kirk seen existing in public: “She should be home with her kids! She’s abandoned them!” Erika Kirk not seen existing in public: “Where is she? What is she hiding??? Why is she being so suspiciously quiet????” Erika Kirk seen eating pancakes: “Look at this stupid bimbo eating pancakes! Too good for waffles huh?” Erika Kirk seen eating waffles: “Really INTERESTING that she chose waffles of all things! Kind of suspicious if you ask me!”

@atxREpodcast PDF editing has gone mainstream among the fraud community, so statements just aren't reliable due diligence any more. If statements we're digital signed via the bank and then the public key was available for confirmation it would help.

A friend is renting a house and the application requires connecting your bank account (via login) to pull 90 days of purchases and balances. Seems really invasive for a rental or any purchase for that matter. Is this really becoming a new standard?

@DanFriedman81 The grave sin is trying to make the white lie, you are women, politely made for a the TREATMENT RESISTANT gender dysphoria as a universal.

There are two extremely grave sins of the trans movement: 1. They reduced the diagnostic criteria required for access to these “treatments.” A doctor used to need to diagnose you with “persistent gender dysphoria” dating back to childhood and persisting for two years under treatment before medical intervention was considered. Under the influence of trans activists, gender clinics started handing out hormones after a single consultation. 2. They vastly overstated the efficacy of these treatments and procedures, and understated their irreversible effects. When they insisted there was no biological difference between trans women and women, vulnerable kids were being led to believe that these procedures could change their bodies to be indistinguishable from those of the opposite sex. This caused a large number of adolescent girls who were not transgender under the traditional definition of suffering persistent long-term dysphoria to undergo procedures based on their belief that they could fully become boys and that they might be happier if they were male. A single detransitioner is such a grotesquely horrific medical outcome that even a very low occurrence of detransition results in the entire field of transition medicine and surgeries causing more harm than benefit. These procedures should be restricted so that this never happens.

@moseskagan @kimmaicutler I big part is Ada regulations applying universally. Really cities should require a reasonable amount of units citywide and not require universal access, universal overbuilding, universal liability.

The main reason more so-called "missing middle" housing doesn't get built: In most states (including CA), there is little regulatory distinction between a 5 unit building and a 500 unit building. Despite posing 1/100 of the risk, the 5 unit building is required to have the same sprinklers, same actively monitored fire panel, same elevator(s), etc. But, obviously, the 5 unit building has many fewer units across which to amortize these costs, leading to higher cost per unit to construct and structurally lower operating margins. If you want more "missing middle" housing, pressure building regulators to take a risk-based approach to regulation: The smaller the building, the fewer the regs.

Every new car in the U.S. will be required by law to have tech that puts constant surveillance on the driver by 2027. AI in your car will determine if you're sober and fit to drive, automatically turning off the vehicle if it determines you're a danger on the road.

💡 Speed up decode by 3-5x for your DGX-Spark running Qwen3.6-27B! Your 3090s can’t do this. 🗒️ Use z-lab/Qwen3.6-27B-DFlash (the DFlash drafter) with Qwen3.6-27B in vLLM for 3-5x faster token generation. 🔮 Future DDTree support in vLLM will stack on top for another major leap in throughput. Try it: vllm serve Qwen/Qwen3.6-27B --speculative-config '{"method": "dflash", "model": "z-lab/Qwen3.6-27B-DFlash", "num_speculative_tokens": 15}'

The Japanese railway privatization of 1987 stands as one of the most devastating defeats ever dealt to statist transportation mythology. The government split the bloated Japan National Railways into seven regional companies, sold them off, and watched private ownership transform a bankruptcy-bound disaster into the world's most efficient rail system. JNR hemorrhaged money for decades before privatization. By 1987, the state railway carried debt equivalent to $200 billion in today's money while delivering mediocre service plagued by strikes and inefficiency. Politicians treated it as a jobs program rather than a transportation service. The predictable result: chronic losses, deteriorating infrastructure, and customer service that reflected government monopoly arrogance. Private ownership changed everything overnight. The new JR companies slashed operating costs by 40% within five years while dramatically improving service quality. JR East alone now generates annual profits exceeding $3 billion. These companies invest billions in cutting-edge technology, maintain punctuality rates above 99%, and operate the world's most advanced high-speed rail networks. They achieved this without a single yen of operational subsidies. The transformation reveals a core dynamic of transportation infrastructure: private companies must satisfy customers to survive, while government monopolies need only satisfy politicians. JR companies diversified into real estate, retail, and hospitality around their stations, creating integrated profit centers that cross-subsidize rail operations. Government railways never innovate this way because bureaucrats face no market pressure to generate returns. Meanwhile, Amtrak burns through $2 billion in annual subsidies while delivering third-world service across most routes, and European state railways require massive taxpayer bailouts every few years to stay solvent.
