@tetheredtoed1 In my opinion, teachers in high poverty schools should be paid more for what they have to deal with.

There is no getting around the fact that teachers in very high poverty schools work soooo much harder. Completely different game!

If you want to keep the best teachers and administrators, treat them like they are the best. Few people leave an environment where they feel valued, supported, appreciated, and treated like professionals. This is more important now than ever!

@rab_ag @teainfo It would also help the sub shortage (besides that subs need to be paid more money.)

He y @teainfo what is the pt of making retired teachers sit out a yr before coming back to sub or teach in an area of high need? I would love to retire/rehire because I’m a unicorn, virtually irreplaceable by 1 person - CTE & 3 sports. My district would save $14k doing it but they can’t because of you. Seriously, give me a reason

@FixingEducation As a teacher myself, I want my students' parents to check online their child's grades, which I update often, at least weekly. As a parent, I check my children's grades and message the teacher if needed. It is frustrating that one teacher doesn't update grades until near the end.

If you just now discovered your child is failing at the end of the quarter/semester, it is not the teacher's failure…it is a failure on your part as a parent. #BeAGoodParent

@marcuslemonis Putting it in a 6 month CD, then using it to pay for my son's first year of college. (I am a public school teacher, and higher education is important.)

@MikaylaMcAdoo Talk to your doctor and get a blood panel done to see if a level is off. Also, keep a food diary to note when you eat, your emotions at the time of eating, healthiness of what you're eating, etc. Good luck!

I’ve gotta get this weight off, man. Anytime I eat with one of my girlfriends, they literally take just a few bites of food and are full. I can eat my entire meal and still be hungry. I’ve always been chronically hungry. I don’t know what my deal is.Any tips or advice would be👍

@MrsPete23 I told the children who gave me gifts thank you in person. I sent a @ClassDojo message to the family adult saying thank you, and I appreciate it.

My youngest made gift boxes 🎁 for all of her teachers. She made the bracelets and she purchased the gift cards with her own money. She didn’t receive any thank you notes. Do you think they are an outdated gesture? #teachertwitter

@ravenousreader I think my parents did this because the fruit took up space in our stocking that they didn't have to fill with more expensive toys and candy.

My mom ALWAYS put an orange in our stocking. We always complained about it and she would say “fruit in winter is rare, and you should remember that. That orange is to make you grateful for what abundance we have.” As an adult someone told me this is an Irish tradition, and that many families do it. No one else I know did this outside of my aunts and cousins. Anyone know more about this?
