Today’s spate of reciprocal strikes between the U.S. and Iran, which was far more intense than those of previous weeks, has cemented the new “ceasefire” dynamic, where Iran responds to U.S. actions by launching strikes on its neighbors and the U.S. responds with retaliatory strikes. This new dynamic is oddly reminiscent of the tit-for-tat strikes on the Houthis, that saw the U.S. ultimately backing down from its aims there to realize deescalation in the local region.

Not that anyone asked, but... I'm a fan of the 2022 kit including both the white and blue. Simple, non flashy and recognizable with the flag logo on the front. Maybe I'm a traditional, non flashy jersey guy but I would prefer our boldness show on the pitch instead of only the jersey...

Think the “stripes” jersey is great because it’s big, bold, and instantly recognizable. Think the “stars” jersey is not great because it isn’t big, bold, and instantly recognizable.

Iran's Major General Rezaei: We will break the siege, either through negotiations or by direct action. The doctrine of Trump and Netanyahu is basically a common doctrine. This doctrine claims that if they intend to impose a new order on the region, Iran must inevitably fall. As long as Iran remains, none of their "new orders" will be realized. Therefore, when they started their work with Gaza, Lebanon and Syria, they were actually saying that the final peak to change the map of the Middle East is to capture Iran. We will force America to end the naval blockade; either through negotiation, or in case of resistance, through direct action. So, despite all the pressures, the future of our economy is bright and promising, while the future of America's economy is dark. My prediction is that within the next 10 years, America will be reduced to the second or third economic power in the world.
Open Source Intel@Osint613

Mohsen Rezaei, military advisor to Mojtaba Khamenei: If the naval blockade continues for a period beyond a certain time frame, then we will be the ones who will attack.

First off, quit hiding behind a fake name and photo. If you want to make comments like that, at least have the courage to do it using your name. We consider you a keyboard coward... Actually my comments align with what Merz and Rutte have been saying that Europe must start ramping up their defense spending and quit depending on the US to defend them. 2% by 2014 was NATO commitment, 3 nations hit it with the US being one. It wasn't until 2024 that the majority of NATO members hit their commitment, only a decade behind and CAN only did it this year due to budget "magic". This was only because Trump said "enough, meet your commitments or we are gone." Sound like me? In the end, my line of thought actually strengthens NATO while yours undermines it by continuing to allow Canada and European NATO members to skip out on their obligations and weaken NATO. (whose the Russian and PRC apologist???) Start thinking through this stuff before posting and realize that the US spends double what the other countries do on defense. This is one of the reasons those countries can afford all of their social programs... we, the US taxpayer need to stop paying everyone else's bills and they must live up to their commitments.

This is the level of resentment I usually associate with the ugliest of PRC nationalists. Ironically, it would be PRC and Russian nationalists that would be the loudest supporters of Roberts attitude and his way of expressing it.
Robert Backie@robbackie

It was never an alliance... it is a support network where all of the "aligned" countries lived off the largesse of the US taxpayer. Funny how Canada is now boasting that they hit the 2% NATO spend... only a decade later than they committed to and only after the "evil" Trump forced them to.

Richard Haass just made a remarkable argument on CNN: That America now has worse relations with Canada than China because the U.S. has spent years attacking allies with tariffs and political fights instead of building a united front against Beijing. And honestly, that gets to the heart of one of the biggest foreign policy debates happening right now: America’s greatest strategic advantage was never just military power. It was the alliance network. Dozens of countries aligned economically, militarily, and diplomatically around U.S. leadership. The argument Haass is making is that Washington has started weakening that advantage itself. He is correct.

Tonight, @RepYassAnsari and I conducted another unannounced inspection of ICE's Mesa Gateway detention center. Last time, we found people crammed into cells at 2-3x capacity. Public awareness and advocacy has made a positive difference, but there is still much more work to do. azmirror.com/2026/05/19/ove…

lol 😂 Elon vs. OpenAI Elon has surrounded himself by so many yes-men, that his lawyers are sooo dumb and/or scared of him, that they didn't realize that this case would get thrown out based on statute of limitations alone! "you waited too long to sue dude!" This is a mind-blowingly stupid way to lose a lawsuit! But EVEN WORSE is that his lawyers are still so dumb/scared of him, that they're unwilling to tell him that "on the merits of the case" you're going to lose even worse because a) You tried to steal the non-profit YOURSELF before Altman & Brockman stole it. b) You knew exactly what happened and when, but waited until unbelievable results were achieved before you raised any concerns. Oh and c) supposedly you want to give any winnings back to the OpenAI non-profit, but guess what!? The OpenAI non-profit is already the world's largest non-profit because of its current stake in OpenAI. Despite the accusation of "theft of the non-profit" (which seem valid on the surface), there is literally no chance Elon can win! The argument falls apart when you realize he tried to steal the non-profit under the for-profit $TSLA umbrella in 2018!
Elon Musk@elonmusk

Regarding the OpenAI case, the judge & jury never actually ruled on the merits of the case, just on a calendar technicality. There is no question to anyone following the case in detail that Altman & Brockman did in fact enrich themselves by stealing a charity. The only question is WHEN they did it! I will be filing an appeal with the Ninth Circuit, because creating a precedent to loot charities is incredibly destructive to charitable giving in America. OpenAI was founded to benefit all of humanity.
