What's a good web host and plan for a single, basic Wordpress business site (not very busy)? Need SSL and cPanel. Have registered domain and email on GoDaddy but their hosting plans with SSL+cPanel appear expensive, like 25k a year! @KishoreBhargava

Hey all — my current website hosting company just sent me an invoice that’s about a jillion dollars more than I used to pay. My author website is pretty static and low key and doesn’t require much bandwidth. Any recommendations? TIA!

@Lukhanyo_19 This depends on what type of hosting you need. Static hosting can be free or very cheap. If you need WordPress or a similar CMS, shared hosting would be the best inexpensive choice. Of course there’s always cloud hosting, but it’s harder to set up.

@sammedsagare For stuff like this I prefer a VPS like DigitalOcean. It’s cheap ($5/month), fast and flexible.

@mitosis1991 Yes. You can create a website using a static website generator like Jekyll and host it on GitHub for free. You could do it without knowing HTML and CSS, but you have to setup everything up. And then just add your content.
