The only acceptable reason to have kids is that you want to nurture and care for another being. That's it. That's all of the good reasons. Not because you want someone to take care of you in your old age, not because you want them to take on a certain career, to give you grandkids, to further your religion. None of that. To bring a child into this world with expectations makes it unethical to have one, it lays the foundation for emotional blackmail; as in, 'I brought you into this world and raised you, had you for this reason so give me that happiness'. No one owes you anything for the things you do out of your own will for your own sake, not even your children.

Something I needed to get used to in the Spanish language is how Mexicans refer to relatives using the possessive form when speaking to another family member. Example A sister talking to her brother: “Fui a ver a mi mamá.” Translates to “I went to see my mom.” instead of “I went to see mom.”

Personalmente creo que es raro usar el posesivo cuando hablas con tus hermanos/as porque son los mismos padres

My mom taught me this lesson when I was maybe seven. I was going on about something I found interesting and after a few minutes she cut in: "Did you notice how I haven't been responding at all?" "Yeah?" "That means I don't care. I don't care about this topic. I'm bored. I don't want to hear about this. When you talk to people, pay attention to whether or not they're responding to you. If they barely have anything to say, stop talking about whatever you're talking about." It was a good lesson. One that many people need but never got. And it shows.
