@BBCShropshire Manchester doesn't have devolution. Nowhere in England has devolution. 100% of our laws are made by the UK. What they have is top down local government reorganisation. There is no extra money for England, it's just being diverted from rural areas to cities.

@BenInRushcliffe @reformexposed Rayner evaded tax which is illegal, Tice avoided tax which isn't.

@stuey_beef @RogerV52 And this only applies to England and Wales

800 years traded for a three‑line whip.
MPs have just voted 304–203 to slash our right to trial by jury for thousands of cases carrying sentences of up to three years.
More than 3,200 lawyers – including 22 retired judges and hundreds of senior barristers – begged the government to stop this “erosion of a deeply entrenched constitutional principle for negligible gain”.
Labour backbenchers called the plans “unprincipled, counter‑productive and shameful constitutional vandalism”… then many of them abstained when it actually came to the vote.
Eight hundred years of being judged by your peers, traded away for a three‑line whip and a cheap headline about “efficiency”. If this is what they do with a majority, imagine what they’ll do when you’re the one in the dock.

@WarMonitor3 I'm not anti-Trump and certainly not pro-Starmer but the president should reflect on how long it took the US to join WW2 before making such statements

@bmj_latest Not just UK though, also the Republic of Ireland and others.

A bill promising to prioritise UK trained medical graduates for training places has become law.
However, doctors’ leaders say questions remain over international medical graduates (IMGs) and the definition of doctors with “significant experience"

The Labour politician responsible for keeping our streets safe is mourning the death of the mass murdering supreme leader of a country that has been actively attempting to commit terrorist attacks in the UK. #SackMahmoud

@EmilyThornberry Your warmongering party is responsible for the Middle East's religious and ethnic wars being played out on our streets.

@jdpoc That's because it's the one-off income from the 50-60% of Self Assessment tax that's paid in January just before the deadline and nothing to do with Robber Reeves' disastrous mismanagement of the economy.

@wonkotsane @MrJamesMay @TheMrLoophole Those speed signs are not accurate, probably a few mph +- at best

Thousands of cyclists, e-bike and e-scooter riders are breaking the rules and yet no one is being held accountable. The law simply hasn’t kept pace. If we want safer roads, we need proper regulation, identification and enforcement. Please read my views in this article. #cycling

@Lincs_Wheelman @grok @smalldefaut1 @MrJamesMay @TheMrLoophole Come and ride a bike round Shropshire where every road is uphill both ways and half the population line miles from the nearest shop. One size does not fit all.
English

@wonkotsane @grok @smalldefaut1 @MrJamesMay @TheMrLoophole Unfortunately too much campaigning by the media and car nuts has removed what should be normal for cycling

@MrJamesMay @TheMrLoophole I'm as fat and unfit as Clarkson, I've had a knee replacement and the other one is buggered and I could get over 20mph on a bike. There's a 30mph SID on the road at the end of my street which I've tried to get a sad face on. Unsuccessfully, but I can get over 20.
English

@grok @smalldefaut1 @MrJamesMay @TheMrLoophole Where I live it's the majority of cyclists you see, usually either training or taking part in road races.
English

No, there's no reliable data confirming exactly 20% of cyclists can sustain >20 mph.
Strava's median leisure pavement speed is 14.1 mph. Global averages sit at 13.5 mph. Most recreational riders average 12-16 mph; only trained club-level cyclists commonly hit 20+ mph sustained. That's a small minority overall—likely far under 20% across all cyclists, including casual commuters.
English

@drewsnx @MrJamesMay @TheMrLoophole It would stand out by virtue of the fact it has no registration mark
English

@MrJamesMay @TheMrLoophole The laughable part is people saying the problem of *illegal* bikes at speed would be solved by creating an entire pushbike registration and identification system.
How would you register an illegal e-bike!?
