RVL-DD is finally here. Designed for Wii portables, it utilizes an FPGA to directly drive an LCD from the Wii GPU's digital output. The all-digital signal chain results in incredibly sharp, pixel-perfect visuals that look stunning on the supported 3.5", 4.3", and 5" IPS displays

@seanami It is very slightly yellow to match the original color, but not as yellow as it appears in the group photo.

@4LayerTech does the milky white look that yellow in person or weird lighting?

The RVL-PMS Lite is back in stock. Now that the part shortage has improved, the PMS Lite has returned to its original, slightly-smaller formfactor. It now shares the same footprint as the original PMS Lite revisions, and the RVL-PMS 2 4layertech.com/products/pms2-…

@W00fer @Consoles4You Phones utilize the same higher-frequency, lower-amplitude vibrations I mentioned earlier. Lower-frequency, higher-amplitude vibrations basically require the use of a larger, heavier rumble motor

@4LayerTech @Consoles4You Stupid question can't we just harvest an actuator or taptic engine from a phone?

Today we were repairing n64 rumble packs and noticed we had a lot of them where batteries ate away half of the pcb. So what does one do? Yes correct, reverse engineer the old pcb and make sure to find modern replacement parts whenever possible. If these pcbs turn out well you will have to source only the custom ic and motor connector from your old pcb.

@Consoles4You @W00fer Yes, this is the route we would like to take. There have been some challenges to overcome though. The higher-frequency, lower-amplitude vibrations of modern rumble motors have difficulty transferring through the mechanical connection between the controller and the pak

@W00fer @4LayerTech I'm not sure, but I think if they do it will be all modern parts and new shell. Mine are more thought to be repair parts for original rumble paks.

@Topher_Customs @CardosiCustoms Using the original GC chip has its own sets of advantages and disadvantages. Similar to how the smash scene has moved towards MCUs for their versatility, we believe the same for the MCU on super GC+. We think the versatile & customizable nature is a huge feature for our product

@Topher_Customs @CardosiCustoms Products like these from small teams take time to develop. We worked on and off on this for about a year, and theirs likey has been in development for a while as well. We both coincidentally worked on similar projects in parallel, but took different approaches to the end product
