Sounds like FIFA is essentially saying it doesn't intend to move Iran's group stage matches to Mexico in light of the war with the U.S. as some outlets have reported.

Following recent reports, the following update can be attributed to a FIFA spokesperson: FIFA is in regular contact with all participating member associations, including IR Iran, to discuss planning for the FIFA World Cup 2026. FIFA is looking forward to all participating teams competing as per the match schedule announced on 6 December 2025

NHL rules used in World Cup of Hockey: so it will NOT be 3 on 3 OT in championship game. Normal Stanley Cup playoffs OT rules so 5 on 5 OT in championship game.

🇺🇸 Nike are selling two versions of the USA match shirt - one with space for a front number and one without. But strangely, the version without the front number still keeps the white panel on the back, even though there’s no name or number there. Last year the women’s shirts handled this better (see thread below) the non-personalised version simply continued the pattern across the back. Feels like a missed opportunity here. A version without the white panel at all (like the 2025 women’s away) would’ve looked great. What do people prefer? FIFA review the moving of #Iran's World Cup games to Mexico Following a series of false reports that Iran has already withdrawn from the World Cup, and comments and tweets by Iranian Sports Minister Donyamali and US President Trump, FIFA officials confirmed to me today in a second check I conducted with them this week, that they examine the possibility that all Iranian national team, which is scheduled to play two games in Los Angeles and another in Seattle, will be moved to Mexico. The Iranian Sports Minister, whose quote ignited a firestorm, (and a fake news factory) regarding Iran's possible withdrawal from the tournament, has already confirmed in an IRNA report that Iran will consider the possibility of playing in Mexico in light of the situation. Iran is playing in Group G with Belgium, Egypt, and New Zealand.
