It's funny how in the past if your language didn't "support OOP" nobody would take it seriously. But today it's not a hard requirement and many modern languages actually trying to move away from it. I wonder what hype of today will be similarly shied away from in the future.

@nilostolte Scared of nothing. That's not k&r style that's just putting a bunch of args on newlines which is normal. The odd check is fine what were you expecting instead?

I was checking this "gem" below, but after a few lines of code I was terrified. The functions definitions in K&R C style and a bad comment with a typo were scary enough. But when I saw the way the guy tests if the number of coordinates is odd I almost had a heart attack. 🤦♂️

@ThePrimeagen Ever looked at the Typescript code base? It's dead simple, semantically. Absolutely nothing fancy, just endless thicc layers of straightforward code doing, albeit, complex things.

Rust has an elegance revealed immediately to lisp programmers and certain elite JS IIFE users. We should appreciate the wisdom that expressions are superior to statements. And for rust devs: consider (self) -> Self over (&mut self) for a higher level of enlightenment.

@sab3rmusic @Slugg37 @Naskomusic YouTube doesn't use the built-in FFmpeg AAC encoder! They surely use Fraunhofer AAC which is high quality and available in FFmpeg via libfdk_aac in custom builds. The built-in FFmpeg AAC however has a bad reputation, it sounds horrible even at high bitrates and too bad SC uses it

@Hasen_Judi I like Zig but I wish it didn't have a fandom because it needs room to change. Rust was good before it was popular because they were willing to ditch things and break them. Hopefully Zig will have that bravery.

Zig is the new Rust. The systems language "for everyone".
