Hopefully it won't get to this point, but I would be very interested in some innovation in Musket technology like smoke hiders, electric ignition, and cartridge-less black powder-based ammunition Also now I want a cannon because they're cool

A musket from 1776 can fire a lead ball at a velocity of around 1,000 feet per second. Imagine what that can do to a human body. Yet under federal and most state laws, it’s exempt from gun regulations. Many antique or replica guns aren’t considered firearms and even convicted felons can own them.

I wonder why Rust community has put itself in such a really bad situation. The language itself is good and interesting, but the package ecosystem is an absolute disaster waiting to happen (~same as NPM), in terms of supply chain security. Why, why, why have they not thought through it 🤯
