We said Christianity MANDATES monogamy.
When Jesus said marriage is between a man and a woman, that wasn’t a suggestion or encouraging.
It was divine order. It was a command.
When Paul said the model marriage is being with one wife, it was an order.
When the apostles said human marriage is a representation of the union of Christ and the church, it wasn’t encouraging.
It was a divine prescription.
Nowhere in the New Testament and Christian history was polygamy considered.
It was an implicit knowledge that monogamy is the only marriage model in Christianity.

This is why people fail exam. I said no religion forbids polygamy. You’re telling me Christianity encourages monogamy. How does that negate my point? Encouraging monogamy does not mean forbidding polygamy. English is not difficult na. I can encourage you to go to Canada without forbidding you from going to the UK. Please go back to your secondary school English textbook and do comprehensive English again. While at it, use a dictionary to check the meaning of “FORBID.”
