I’m clearly in the minority about Refsnyder, and that’s okay. Great bat to have ON THE BENCH. But miss me with the idea about platooning yet another position. I’d very kindly not want to revisit the AJ Pollock days. $6M for a bench bat is absurd. Feel free to bookmark this to tell me I’m wrong at the ASB. Idc. I hate it

@AngryMariners He’s back to not seeing the ball well and guessing. You could tell strikes one and two he was sitting fastball and was gonna swing at it as long as it was remotely close.

I understand they made two errors that inning, but the Mets getting gloves on literally every hard hit ball the past two nights is getting a little annoying

@shYNY_Yordy But if you’re bumping the minimum salary so the Connor Joes and Leo Rivas’ are making > $1M+ as league minimum, you still can’t cry poor and expect fans to sympathize with you. It comes off as tone deaf - just like when owners cry they “lose money” while owning a baseball team

@AngryMariners There's only 1 Juan Soto, 1 Ohtani. How many Connor Joes & Leo Rivas? 100s? Fringe major leaguers who still make a good amount compared to me but not enough for what they help bring in. Those are the type of players getting screwed by a salary cap, and we need them just as much.

If you "just want baseball in 2027" Who plays baseball? The Players. Who doesn't play baseball? Team Owners. If MLB owners all go "F this! MLB is done." Baseball players will find another league or way to play baseball for us because that's what they love. Owners just love money.

My observations so far on this topic: Me: “Neither side cares about us. They’re both greedy as fuck. I just want baseball in 2027, and a revamped system where the Dodgers don’t end up with every star.” The comments: “WHY ARE YOU BOOTLICKING A BILLIONAIRE YOU FUCKING RETARD YOU DON’T KNOW SHIT AND BILLIONAIRES SHOULD LITERALLY CEASE TO EXIST”

@EnragedMsFan The “W” key isn’t even close to the “L” key for you to make that kind of typo either

@MarkCHealey Most of our fans also want a salary floor. Why do people assume we only want a cap?

Dear Pittsburgh Pirates fans: I love your ballpark, and your fanbase is loyal and know ball. But you really think your owner is going to spend more if there is a salary cap? How much of the revenue-sharing $$$ he's collected over the years has been put back into the team? If the answer is less than 50%, there's your answer.

Yes obviously I like Julio Rodriguez 1000x more than I like John Stanton. However, Julio isn’t the problem in the negotiations. It’s Bruce Meyer and his co-negotiators. I also don’t see myself arguing that players like Juan Soto or Shohei Ohtani are being limited in money bc of a potential salary cap, when they’re making $700-$800M. Sorry, but to me the difference between $800M and $1B is negligible lol. I don’t relate to either of those sides, and unless I get really lucky with a PowerBall ticket, I never will. If you’re making millions of dollars a year and willing to shut the fans out of baseball for an entire year to claim poor, no I’m not taking your side.

@AngryMariners I mean I'm not calling YOU a "bootlicker" or anything else. All I'm saying is that even if we think BOTH sides are in the wrong we should still be on the players side because at the end of the day Julio Rodriguez is the one out there playing not "First Avenue Entertainment LLLP"

Even if you think BOTH SIDES are greedy and don't care about us, there is no scenario where siding with the owners makes sense. So no matter how greedy the players are, if you want baseball, you should side with the players because THEY ARE THE ONES WHO PLAY BASEBALL‼️

@AngryMariners I totally agree. The system is broken and needs to be addressed. The Ohtani contract was my last straw. $2m per year with $68m deferred? GTFO. Fix that immediately. Also need a floor for those teams not spending money.

MLBPA interim executive director Bruce Meyer says that the players would actually be taking a $500 million paycut if they accepted MLB's salary cap proposal, and reiterated that they will never agree to a salary cap.
