@kuwanano_vt It is very much one of those old vestiges from Harvest Moon though. I suppose one way to do it while keeping it tied to player agency, is to give them a sort of optional matchmaker role. That'd be neat.

@kuwanano_vt I think this is somewhat inherently due to the unlimited, semi-sandbox nature of these games. Even Stardew Valley already has hinted-at relationships between romancable characters and townsfolk, yet they can never come true in order to always keep all options open for the player.

okay but serious question to all farming game devs EVERY farming game like this has dating options for the player. Why not go the Fire Emblem route instead and let us ship the townsfolk with each other??? whichever farming game dev ends up seeing this, pls take notes

@TomCafeConLeche @Akkusativ1 Grinding isn't a challenge in its own right, its element of punishment stems only from the fact that it's boring as fuck. It's kinda second nature for people who want a challenging puzzle-like game to choose the option that makes that part even more challenging.

@TomCafeConLeche @Akkusativ1 It's not outright easier, there are very clear trade-offs. On one hand you eliminate the possibility of losing focus during grinding and losing a mon that way, on the other hand you entirely eliminate EV training.

@MiiaTzu People tried to help you understand, and you doubled down. I used to share very similar beliefs as to the ones you're getting flak for now. The only thing that changed was that I started genuinely listening to those I was talking about, and noticed that I too was hurting them.

I post one crude tweet expressing disdain for a specific piece of terrible fanservice (notably *not* fanservice in general, which I have repeatedly said I don't mind at all), it gets dogpiled, and that was reason enough for you to say some paternalistic bullshit about cortisol levels. The weird thing is that we literally share the same view of shit like this. You explicitly said you don't want Endfield to become "harem slop for incels like WuWa", but deleted it as soon as these very same chuds started giving you heat.
