@BoundaryBreak Co-developed? Why do people think Nintendo couldn't do this entirely in-house?

Whether I'm right or wrong I want to have a post putting in a guess that Starfox remake is being developed by Ubisoft. Couple reasons for this speculation: - Artstyle feels Western focused. Ubisoft is a French studio but sometimes there's overlap in artstyle philosophy - The voice acting shown in trailers feels like it has that unique brand of off sounding voice direction that Ubisoft sometimes has - Ubisoft once handled the Starfox IP for their Starlink game. Establishing a relationship. - the expanded mission briefings feel reminiscent of Starlink I have no insider info. Could be completely wrong. Just want to see if I predict this one for fun.

@TheHylian64 I think the distinction between this and rabbids is the Rabbids collaboration included Ubisoft intellectual property where as this game falls into Nintendos wheel house of "if it's ours. We don't like to openly discuss the developer anymore" as seen with DK Bananza

@BoundaryBreak Cool to see your take. :) I think if it were Ubisoft, their representatives would have appeared in the presentation full stop, as was the case with Starlink and Mario+Rabbids. I agree, though, that Ubisoft has good clearance among external Western devs.

@BoundaryBreak Just to avoid any confusion, you're thinking of Starlink: Battle for Atlas. Starfield is the bethesda game.

@Minjinx012 @jackbrady1010 but in your own cited example the author cites the genre shifting as the core problem. Not that its inherently on foot.

@BoundaryBreak @jackbrady1010 That’s not really true. Your first sentence is a dismissal of OP’s claim. Which I claim is invalid and OP is actually correct. That’s how this thread happened. I actually agree with your point, but OP is right and to say he’s wrong is revisionist history

Millennial YouTubers complaining about Star Fox going on foot in the late 2000's is why the series keeps reimagining and remaking 64, and it's been awful for the series

@Minjinx012 @jackbrady1010 i think you forget why youre even here. My original reply makes the point that if the on foot segments lent itself betting to the core gameplay of on rails and all range mode then people would be fine with it.

@BoundaryBreak @jackbrady1010 His complaint of the genre shifting…. ….to on foot. As in, he doesn’t like that. Again, you’re reaching. This isn’t even the only example, I gave you another one too if you’re so dead on defending this one. People were absolutely against on foot as a concept back then

@Minjinx012 @jackbrady1010 Where does he say he only wants air combat? The only thing he explicitly says is theyre two completely different gaming genres in Assault. And he's right about that.

@BoundaryBreak @jackbrady1010 In no way does he offer any implication that he’s okay with ground combat. The entire review slams the concept and provides no implication that it’s just a bad attempt at it. He makes it very clear he wants only air combat You’re reaching.

In the entire review he doesn't say ground based gameplay couldn't work. He constantly bemoans how different the ground based combat is from the on rails segments and how the gameplay is slow and tedious. Which it was. But if ground missions felt more tailored to the on rails like gameplay then I'm sure it could have been a lot better. And nothing in this review dissuades Nintendo from trying something like that

Starfox64 is so overrated it's not even as good as the snes game
