@Abrakakhobra AAP and Congress are not enemies. A lot of commonalities exist between their ideals. AAP's base is pretty narrow. However, both can work together

@HindutvaDon_ What would have BJP done? Please guess? A party not in existence before till 1980- can it hope to have ruled for 70 years? We must get our maths correct.

AAP and TMC, both were strong some time back. But there was something lacking. They did not understand that one day they may be ejected out with extra constitutional means. They ought to have worked in tandem with Congress and RG. Instead, they used tantrums and belittled Congress. Now, you see, INC is the only party staying united with 100 odd MPs in Loksabha. True, it took time to stabilize under the leadership of RG. But, structurally, it had the necessary strength. Now, I find hardly any chance for AAP to come back in Delhi. Punjab, they may hold the fort for a while more. In Delhi, AAP ians must come to Congress and RG and strengthen the party and to take leadership roles in that party. TMC will do good in working in tandem with Congress or even act as associate of Congress. Mamata ji still command a lot of respect. Cash on that

I received this honor today from BJP MP Sandeep Pathak 🙏 @Sandeeppathak04
Dr. SP tweet media
Dr. SP@sphavisha

Dear Sandeep @SandeepPathak04 I was listening to your press conference today. Among the three options, if there is no way you can continue working with AAP, you could have left AAP and resigned from your MP post. Joining the BJP is not just gaddari to Arvind Kejriwal who trusted in you and other AAPians who believed in you; it is gaddari to 1.4 billion Indians. Others may have reasons to bend under pressure, but you do not have any reason to bend to any pressure. You should never be seen as a gaddaar in the eyes of your daughter. Joining BJP is an insult to every single day of your life so far, which you have led with relentless hard work, facing hurdles at each step. As you yourself said, there are many other ways of nation-building. Let us work on those options. Please do not go to BJP. This country needs more people like you to fight for restoring the normal functioning of institutions. It is okay to not know the art of politics. It is okay to not always have common sense. Our education has taught us humility - to accept our failures and to accept what we do not know. But doing gaddari is not at all a solution to this. If you cannot stand internal politics within AAP, imagine - you may not be able to sustain even one day in BJP. They will swallow you in no time. We are just ordinary people (read that 100 times). It is okay to lose 10 years of your life fighting for a rightful reason and not succeed. But please do not go to BJP. It has only been a few hours since you joined, and 1.4 billion people are counting on you. This was the donation I made to AAP Chhattisgarh last May after knowing that Sandeep was the Chhattisgarh Prabhari. I do not have visibility into what is happening on the ground, but I could sense that something was off. Sandeep was someone I truly looked up to. In many ways, I saw myself in him - an educated person who genuinely wanted to bring change in the system, who sacrificed his career and worked very hard during the Punjab elections. I know I wanted to be like that one day, but I am still not sure if I can move back to India due to my own constraints. So I wanted him to succeed in his goal of bringing REAL CHANGE on the ground (after learning from his past lessons). That is why I made this donation. I could not post it then, as I felt he may not have been comfortable with it at that time. I am posting it today along with the original message I had shared with a few leaders internally while sending this donation certificate to them. I took reference of Manoj’s Daadi in 12th Fail movie. We all knew that the hard-earned life savings of Manoj's Daadi were stolen. But Manoj did not turn into a traitor in his Daadi’s eyes. I am hoping for a miracle in this real-life story too, even as I watch these dramatic events unfold today 🙏 ------------ This is the original message I shared with AAP leaders last year 👇 An ordinary middle-class girl from a small town in Andhra Pradesh, is donating her hard earned money to Aam Aadmi Party Chhattisgarh unit today, because she believes in the power of opportunity as she has lived what opportunity can do. In India, the arc of our lives is too often written before we can even dream - by our birth, our gender, our caste, our class. I happened to be lucky, being born into a middle-class family that valued education, I was given that one opportunity that can break all barriers - learning. That education led me to a job, to independence, to a voice - and today, that voice says- 'every child deserves the same shot at life, no matter where they are born' AAP is the only political force that hasn’t just talked about education - it has transformed it. In Delhi, 18 lakh government school children have been given dignity, hope, and opportunity through education that matches private schools. They weren’t chosen for their privilege or wealth - AAP chose to believe in them. Just them. That’s why, just like Manoj’s Dadi in 12th Fail movie, who gave him her life long savings so he could chase his dreams of becoming an honest officer and serve the country, today I am contributing to AAP for its mission in Chhattisgarh. I dream of a day when New York Times headlines speak of government school children from Chhattisgarh rising to global heights - because someone dared to believe in them. Because AAP will dare to change their future. And why to AAP Chhattisgarh ? Because, this same education has made a huge difference in one man’s life who now sacrificed his career to be part of AAP in order to bring BADLAAV in this country and is currently prabhari of Chhattisgarh. He is a huge inspiration to me and I am contributing my hard earned money, because I have complete trust in his integrity, and he will start a powerful movement in Chhattisgarh. Now is the time to build something strong, rooted, and visionary in Chhattisgarh. This is why I hope my donation fuels the upcoming local body elections in CG - the stepping stones for solid support base to form for AAP

The way Mamata Banerjee, Tejashwi Yadav, Kejriwal and Stalin have been losing elections, if the Congress had suffered similar defeats, the media would have crucified Rahul Gandhi by now. But why isn't a single word being said against them in the media? Why is no one holding them accountable? Their parties are almost collapsing, yet the media says nothing. Instead, all the lectures and criticism are directed at Congress.

A great revolution started. Millions of people followed them in Instagram. But now crores of people saw it in TV Screens. None supported the rot. Everyone felt sorry for, felt ashamed of the rot. All those who watched on TV Screens and mobile phones know they can't do anything now. They feel helpless. They feel un empowered. The creation of this feeling and anger is the ultimate success of CJP protest. Crores of Indians feel their freedom has been stolen from them by those who were put in place by the common man. They feel : Enough is enough.

Noticed how the focus shifted from the CBSE kids to CJP? The math of modern political distraction is brutal. We went from counting student suicides to counting viral impressions on a timeline. The sheer desperation of millions of students fighting a broken academic system was erased from the collective memory in a single weekend. Instead, the public was handed a clean, cooperative spectacle that doesn’t disrupt a single traffic light in Delhi. What actual change will the CJP protest bring? I believe, none. While families are mourning actual, irreversible losses from paper leaks, the outrage was quietly repackaged into a safe, digital brand run by overnight influencers. By shrinking the target to a single ministry official, the actual core of power isn't just protected, it is completely insulated. The tragedy isn't that the establishment is clever; it's that the intellectual class is so easily entertained by a conflict-free rebellion. Let's cut through the noise: the current administration faces structural incompetence from top to bottom. But do not mistake a career-building digital gimmick for an actual youth uprising. Stop treating a beautifully managed diversion like a revolution while the real crisis is buried in the dark.

i’m not raising allegations on youngsters. i’m raising it on their founders. despite the fact that they claim, “its a youth movement” it is all about the founders’ heroism / victimhood at any given point. not to mention, they ain’t even the youth. it is a leader focused “movement”. it is hierarchical. not horizontal.

Cockroach Janta Party is less a challenge to the state and more an example of reactionary movementism. channeling anger into spectacle & memes. their lack of political core & ideology will ultimately leave status quo intact. CJP is beating around the bush. the founders want to maintain their 5 minutes to fame & are taking away space from real people’s movements happening all over the country. (think adivasis resisting, students protesting and getting tortured, manipur is burning, the nicobar project etc etc)

Congress's decline cannot be separated from the growing religious polarisation of voters, especially in North India. Many observers agree that no previous ruling party has pursued such divisive politics so openly for electoral gain, while concerns about the increasing influence of the establishment over democratic institutions have also grown over the past decade. In these circumstances, Congress and Rahul Gandhi have helped keep democratic opposition alive and prevented a complete erosion of democratic checks and balances. Countering polarisation cannot be the responsibility of Congress alone; it requires all democratic and secular forces to join the fight. Scholars like Ramachandra Guha, instead of acknowledging these challenges and be part of the team to defend democraic values, shouldn't simply blame Rahul and help the society-dividers! @ShashiTharoor @Ram_Guha @RahulGandhi @INCIndia
Ramachandra Guha@Ram_Guha

Dear @ShashiTharoor , I enjoyed your spirited defence of Rahul Gandhi. Alas, it does not address the central thesis of my column and interview—his dismal leadership record. The facts speak for themselves. The Congress suffered heavy defeats in three successive General Elections fought under his leadership. Meanwhile, the number of Congress MLAs has come down by almost 50% under his watch. In 2013, the Congress was in power in 14 states. That was the party Rahul Gandhi inherited. Now the Congress is in power in just 5 states. As the countrywide footprint of the party shrinks, surely its principal leader should be held accountable? Or is that a question too uncomfortable for the Congress to face?

We as a country/ population cannot be unscientific in all walks of life and still hope to bring in industrialization and tons of jobs. Present system blocks the scope for huge industrialisation and agricultural growth. Discouraging protein eating, meaning eating of eggs, meat of all kinds including fish, mutton and cattle meat, white meat actually suppresses health and industry. Eating cumber and lady's finger alone will not unleash the animal spirit in agriculture and farming. Religious divide should not become a political tool to harness votes and to secure power.

TN BJP’s biggest problem was not #DMK, #TVK. It was its own fear, obedience, and obsession with cutting down #Annamalai. If they had spent half this aggression fighting DMK instead of attacking the one man who actually did, Annamalai wouldn’t have needed to become the face of resistance. Ideology is useless if you cannot defend it, package it, or create a narrative people can rally behind. #Annamalai walked into DMK-controlled media, took the hits, gave it back, and built his own space. Before lecturing or attacking him, first show the courage to do even half of what he did and stop being subservient to #ADMK.

They should not be part of INDIA Block. They are major force in Punjab and in Delhi. Congress is their opponent in Punjab. Delhi, there is no scope for pooling votes of congress and AAP. Let both parties strengthen themselves in these states. AAP is weakening day by day. Present India Block has meaning in WB if Mamata joins with Congress for a consolidated struggle, in UP if the synergy of Lok Sabha polls could be maintained. In Bihar, Rjd is discredited, in Maharashtra, old NCP and SS are discredited. Congress must stand on themselves. In Kashmir, BJP is zero. in Jammu, some alignment may do good for INDIA.

Let us be completely clear about accountability. The demand for resignations must go all the way to the top. From the complete failures in education and railways to the entire economic and infrastructure leadership, this current administration has proven itself incompetent and corrupt. The Prime Minister and his entire cabinet need to be held accountable for the damage they have caused to this country. I fully stand with Gen Z and their genuine anger against this establishment. However, we must separate the cause from the opportunistic characters trying to lead it. We are seeing the rise of self-proclaimed "new-generation leaders" who target low-hanging bureaucratic fruits just to build their own political careers. Their ideologies are completely hidden, their past actions are highly inconsistent, and their sudden rise looks incredibly suspicious. They are masquerading as champions of the youth while acting as a safe pressure valve for the state. I support the fight for a better future, but I refuse to blindly cheer for these new, manufactured figures. It is entirely possible to back the student movement while remaining deeply skeptical of the shady leaders trying to hijack it. Turn your back on the gimmicks, but keep fighting the system.

Yes. There is a point in what u said. Biggest problem is poverty, lack of education and lack of empowerment which is the result of the above. We are too gullible and religious too. We must bring accountability in governance and public service. Religions and rituals apart, we must inculcate societal morality actively, affirmative action is needed. Scientific temper is to be inculcated.

India's biggest problem is not Modi. It is not Rahul Gandhi. It is not BJP. It is not Congress. > It is a population where millions of people know every cricketer's average, every actor's dating history, every influencer's controversy, but have no idea who their MLA is, what their MP does, or where their tax money goes. Then they blame politicians for being smarter than voters. Democracy cannot outperform the average intelligence of its electorate.

Agree that Rahul Gandhi is among the best politicians in India right now. He has something India desperately needs - decency and idealism, rather than settling for low standards, poor morals and incitement. Even better, this new avatar doesn't fear defeat. He keeps trying. His voice is extremely necessary right now. I am not a Congressi, but @Ram_Guha comparing Rahul Gandhi unfavourably with Modi is pretty unhinged.
MM@mmvp2005

Writing this without an iota of hate of ill-will toward @Ram_Guha , @HartoshSinghBal , Harish Khare, @tavleen_singh @waglenikhil and many other Gandhi family baiters who have repeatedly targeted Rahul Gandhi and his politics of opposition to the Modi led BJP. I now understand that most of you are still fighting the @INCIndia of 1975 and 1984 among others just as the Sangh is fighting the Congress of Gandhi and Nehru. Much of legacy media and social media are dominated by these two groups. But here's a third group which became politicised in 1992 with the rise of Hindutva- the pro- Rahul Gandhi voice on social media is roughly this group of Gen X ers and a motley mix of a new millennials and GenX. We are disturbed by the repeated attacks on Rahul Gandhi not because we are members of the Congress party or are blind followers of any cult- we are disturbed because the anti-Congressism of the earlier groups is blinding most toward the clear and present danger that stares before us - the existential threat to our Republic. Rahul Gandhi is among the very few of our politicians who has been able to consistently articulate that danger by his fearless attacks on the Sangh and its agenda of destroying the secular fabric of this country. He might never become Prime Minister of this country - but history will be kinder towards him than many of you would like to believe.
