Oilers need to make smart decision when trading Nurse.
Always available. Has only missed 18 games the past 9 seasons.
Can log big minutes. Skates well. Is physical.
Can chip in offensively at 5x5. He is 40th in EV goals and points among Dmen the past three seasons.
He's not a #1 Dman, but he has value. Oilers can't afford another trade similar to Stuart Skinner.

Today #LetsGoOilers took their place thru the Cassidy "leak", having to fire Knoblauch because of it, and now, considering hiring Babcock as the new coach.

Edmonton has enough talent to win the Pacific in the regular season next year. They will be highly motivated and will have a good start regardless of who is the head coach. Will they win in playoffs, depends more on which players GM adds, than the HC. IMO.

@JasonGregor Outside of Cassidy, only one coach that you mentioned in your article impresses me. That's Todd Nelson.
The guy has won as a head coach in the AHL several times with a team that had many recalls to its NHL club (Washington) during his tenure.
He should be given an interview.
