@Framer launched 3.0 and I personally think it's a new era for web design. Let me tell you why. Right after the launch, they kicked off a 24-hour hackathon dedicated to the new features. I decided to participate, and here's a thread about it 🧵 I promise it gets interesting!

Apparently making sales on the new @framer marketplace is indeed possible.

I finally have the time to test the new @framer AI Agent feature, and I'm really impressed! Most of you don’t know what a lifesaver this update is for my current real workflow! What used to take me 1–2 hours of manually uploading CMS content now takes just 5 minutes, while I’m off doing something else. Previously, I used @claudeai together with the MCP plugin from the marketplace. It got the job done, but it would sometimes make mistakes, which meant I had to hire someone to double-check everything in the CMS, or I had to spend some time checking it myself, which I don't want to. There were also limitations when it came to uploading images. Now that Framer has its own MCP integration, the agent experience feels much more polished. The agent operates within the context of the project, which means it's much less likely to go off-script. Here's my current workflow: I have Claude connected to my Notion database, where I store all the websites I curate for agencygallery.com. I also told Claude to read my Google Drive folder. 1. I give Claude a screenshot of my Notion list with the websites I want to add to Framer. 2. It finds the matching folder in Google Drive using the same name as the Notion entry. It uploads the screenshots from that folder to Framer. 3. It adds the website to Framer, following the same pattern as the existing CMS items, across 2 different CMS collections. 4. Once everything is added, the status on Notion is updated automatically. 5. Then I ask it to generate image alt text for all the uploaded images. It nailed everything in a single shot, in sonnet 4.6. Such a huge time saver!!!!!

@framer opened their Marketplace to everyone, and a lot of creators are frustrated, I get it. But the way I see it, the whole industry is moving toward making everyone a designer, a coder, a whatever. Maybe curating is starting to make less sense in this environment,

@RalconStudio @framer Totally agree just when you think you have a plan, the rules change. Personal brand was always on the list. guess it just became urgent.

My take on the new @framer marketplace: Template approval is now gone. This means getting your template, components, and plugins listed is easier than ever, but it also means the marketplace will likely become much more crowded. You need to be active in the community and build a personal brand if you want more people to discover what you're creating. The game is changing. It's no longer "create a template, submit it, and wait for sales." It's becoming much more about trust, reputation, and brand. When @gilverse_design and I first realized this, our first thought was honestly: "Our revenue will definitely take a hit." But Framer doesn't owe us anything. And that's the risk of building a business on top of someone else's platform. Things can change overnight. There's no point getting mad or blaming the Framer team for the update. Whether we like it or not, the update is here. What matters now is what we do with the new situation. The people who adapt will win. The people who refuse to adapt will lose. In a way, I think this update will become a filter. A filter between creators who are serious about building a long term business and those who were only relying on marketplace traffic. The creators who keep showing up, building their brand, helping the community, and improving their products will stand out over time. Instead of complaining about it, we're treating it as a wake up call. Moving forward, we're doubling down on building @VeloxThemes as a brand people remember. Not just another template seller. We want Velox Themes to be one of the first names that comes to mind when people think about website templates. Our vision is much bigger than the marketplace itself. There are still thousands of designers, agencies, and founders who have never heard of us. And they're not all hanging out inside the Framer bubble. So we'll keep reinvesting into branding, content, products, and community. We want people to know we're building something for the long run, not chasing quick wins. The future belongs to those who adapt. We're adapting. Are you?

@bynneh @framer Agree, also If the guardrails are off, I fear that even beyond aesthetics, build quality will take a hit — and that could end up affecting the whole community, future buyers, and ultimately the product itself.

Framer just quietly ended the template business as you know it. When I started there were maybe 1k @framer templates on the whole marketplace, and with a quality product the hardest part was just getting approved. Now anyone can publish ∞ templates a day with no approval, so we're heading toward 1k a week. When everyone can publish anything, the hard part is just getting noticed. The best designer no longer wins. The designer people actually follow does. That's uncomfortable for a lot of us who just wanted to build, but it's where this is going. Nobody finds you by accident anymore.
