On this day in 1949, Robert Menzies was elected Prime Minister, launching the longest-serving government in Australian history.  His leadership restored stability after the turmoil of the post-war years, championed small business and home ownership, strengthened Australia’s national development, and helped usher in a unique Australian identity.  Australia could use that kind of clarity and confidence again. Current MPs could take a leaf out of his book.

Environmentalists rarely mention the impact of immigration on the climate even though it’s hugely negative. They’d probably argue the economic benefits outweigh the damage, but the same argument would apply more so to the nuclear, coal and gas they oppose. What’s their logic?

@TMFScottP Green hydrogen is better suited to manufacturing green ammonia & urea fertiliser. Current ammonia fertiliser has high footprint (12kg CO2 / kg H2) and is 90% imported from OS. Nitrogen for the fertiliser comes straight out of the air, so, doable anywhere with a hydrogen supply.

Can someone tell me why hydrogen is not being seriously considered / used as a fuel for commuter vehicles? Availability/cost/environmental impact of its separation and supply? Feels like a very good option for a large country like Australia. (No ideologues, please) :)
