This is exactly what Eelam Tamils on here have been warning about.
The Sri Lankan state strategically designs Sinhala Buddhist imposition in a way that would maximize local Tamil dependency, whether it is buying cheap produce or being employed in an army farm (usually on stolen Tamil land - with Sri Lankan court documents to prove that), or getting clean drinking water from a settler temple, while civic Tamil institutions remain deliberately neglected.
A horrific consequence of this occurred yesterday - a Tamil child who went to a settler temple to get basic necessities was kidnapped by a Sinhala monk and sexually abused.
To outsiders, it would seem surprising that a monk amongst all classes of Sinhalese would do this, but it is unfortunately the least bit unsurprising. There is a widespread sexual abuse problem that not only Tamils but also their own Sinhala children aren’t safe from, and too many times it’s mixed with their universal promotion of ultranationalism - in 2011, a far-right Jathika Hela Urumaya (National Sinhala Heritage) monk-former MP was convicted of serial child sexual abuse.
This is the reality of Tamils living in Sri Lanka instead of having a state of their own. That is the only way further tragedies like these can be prevented. With the status quo, we can only pray for the child to recover as physically and emotionally as possible while the Sinhala court system is somehow expected to adequately deliver justice.

The LTTE survived in the East during the IPKF perioid primarily because they had the backing of Muslims there, many of whom had suffered at the hands of the Indian occupation. EROS also joined the LTTE, and figures like Balakumaran became important members of the Tigers’ political wing. Others, such as Shankar Rajee, became collaborators with the government, while individuals like Arular acted as intermediaries and peacemakers between Sri Lanka and the LTTE.
Crying about militant groups like TELO, EROS, PLOTE, or EPRLF is funny, given they abandoned Tamil Eelam and became paramilitary groups.
The SLMC frequently shifted its alliances among Tamil militant groups, which is why it was not widely trusted. At one point, it even proposed the creation of a Muslim brigade within the Sri Lankan Army.
Violence by Muslims against Tamil civilians predates that of the LTTE against Muslims.
There were massacres, such as in Kairaitivu, as well as smaller pogroms in Amparai prior to 1990.

The LTTE also sought to address the “Muslim question,” as seen in efforts like the LTTE–Muslim accord. They even proposed building several Muslim schools in Tamil-majority areas.

The influence is such that even sanghi Brahmins have internalized TN’s performative anti-caste ideology. Even if it’s aimed at another community (in this case Eelam Tamils), it ultimately hurts Brahmins the most who D stocks and bhimtas hold responsible for introducing and legitimizing the caste system.
Also where did this new theory come from? The usual take is that LTTE were low caste Christians. Eelam Tamils are the only group at whom people throw the most bipolar accusations. Just days ago I posted a screenshot of a Sri Lankan calling the LTTE a low caste plot, although historically they’ve weaponized the opposite narrative to paradoxically justify massacring the largest number of Dalits in the entire history of South Asia.
We unfortunately don’t have the resources to fight all these powerful propagandists and we’re also cursed with insular allies who don’t know the world beyond their village to know Moors aren’t Tamils.

anti-LTTE people tailor their lies depending on the audience. to Sanghis they claim the LTTE were crypto-Christians. to others they claim the LTTE were Sanghi casteists.
when Indian-origin Tamil Dalits from the tea plantations in the Sinhala south faced pogroms, it was the LTTE that took them in, protected them, and distributed land to them so they could settle in the Tamil northern and eastern areas.

Tied up 73-year-old man with duct tape, punched him, stole wallet & phone.
Victim needed 2 weeks to heal.

Today marks 26 years since the 2000 Kudarappu landing, a moment that highlighted how far Tamil fighters had evolved as a fighting force in the face of overwhelming odds. It was not just a raid but a carefully timed amphibious insertion that played a key role in the events leading up to the fall of Elephant Pass.
Around one thousand fighters were moved by sea under the command of Colonel Soosai and landed behind Sinhala Army lines on the Jaffna Peninsula. This happened at night, under the risk of naval interception, and with remarkable coordination alongside ongoing land offensives.
What made it stand out was the timing. This was part of a broader campaign where multiple fronts were activated at once. While the army focused on defending the main land routes, the Tamils bypassed the front entirely and struck from the rear, cutting supply lines and creating pressure from multiple directions.
Elephant Pass was considered one of the most fortified and strategically vital positions in the country. By landing behind it and disrupting logistics, the Tamils effectively turned a defensive stronghold into a liability. Within weeks, the position collapsed in one of the biggest shocks of the entire war.
It stands as a reflection of how Tamils, facing an army backed by foreign powers and far greater in size, developed into a force capable of executing complex and daring operations. Their growth in strategy and tactics, combined with discipline and bravery under pressure, allowed them to challenge and at times overcome overwhelming military advantages in pursuit of our rightful Tamil homeland, rooted in our history, identity, and right to self determination.

the conservative Hindu population of India has been so thoroughly PSYOPed by the Indian left that they often arrive at self-defeating, left-approved political positions without realizing it.
pre-2008/2009 Indian media coverage of the LTTE was all about portraying them as "Hindu terrorists" with ties to the VHP (partially true) who "killed Muslims".
but when the brutal Sri Lankan war crimes and massacres in the final 2008/2009 phase risked creating wider sympathy for the Eelam Tamil cause ahead of the 2009 elections, the Indian left conveniently seeded conspiracy theories claiming the LTTE and Prabhakaran were "crypto-Christians".
not only were these claims about the LTTE and Prabhakaran blatant lies, but Eelam Tamils, especially Prabhakaran’s own Karaiyar ancestors, were among the groups that most violently and effectively resisted forced Catholic conversion by European colonial powers.

Eelam Tamils donated to India's National Defence Fund during the 1960s/70s wars and some even wanted to volunteer and fight for India.
it was Rajiv Gandhi's IPKF betrayal that made us turn against India and for the LTTE to turn its guns against the IPKF rapists and murderers. but it never involved spreading separatism to India.

When we clearly see this, we cannot unsee this.

LTTE came into existence because of genocidal policy and pogroms carried out by the Sri Lankan state.
LTTE had no aspirations to split India. They were fighting for an independent homeland within Sri Lanka itself, the north and east of the country to be precise.
Distorting history doesn’t benefit India or the real grievances of Eelam Tamils.
