My father-in-law, who is more of a casual fan, enjoyed #SmackDown. He likes Danhausen after initially hating him. I asked him about Pat McAfee's segment and he said, "Eh, it was ok. Unpredictable though!" I asked him if it changed his interest in WrestleMania and he said, "I was already interested so it didn't matter." He wants Oba Femi and Rhea Ripley to win at WrestleMania. That is what is most important to him. #WWE

@Mikey_3count @aaronrift The problem is, where is the mix? I’ve had at least 5 people in my comments try to make the same point. But nobody is answering to the fact that WWE isn’t currently appeasing to more than just the casual fans. That’s my entire point and literally everybody is missing it.

Without “surface level” fans or casual fans not only would wwe maybe not be around, wrestling as a whole would be so different right now and maybe not for the better. Everything needs those fans to be bigger. Movies, sports, everything

And maybe… stop overcharging people for shows that underdeliver. Triple H and Nick Khan know this. They were there when the product was at its worst. Watching that promo again… McAfee says the show sucks, ratings suck, the champion sucks, and the Attitude Era was better. How is this supposed to entice people to watch Mania? The mentor vs. the student incorporating old footage is all they needed. This pivot was really bad.

@Popplayzz1 he’s taking the brunt of the blame for a lot of things he shouldn’t be. but that doesn’t absolve his horrors beyond comprehension in that creative room. the juice just isn’t there right now and they’re scrambling desperately to find it.

I kind feel for Triple H with him getting all this hate. Triple H is being forced by TKO to include all these celebrities in the name of “selling tickets”. He can’t do anything but implement these requests from Ari Emanuel cause he’s the owner of the company. Everything from returning to Las Vegas for Mania , High Ticket prices and inclusion of Celebrities ( except few ) are all TKO’s decision. And Triple H gets all the hate for it. I know that 2022-2024 booker is still inside him.

Happiness is a choice, and so is how we view things. The angle with Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Pat McAfee isn’t finished yet, so let it play out. Not every moment in a storyline is going to be a chartbuster, peaks and valleys are part of what make the payoff matter. The biggest show of the year is where stories peak, not two weeks before. McAfee brings real mainstream appeal with a massive audience and his show on ESPN, which puts more casual eyes on WWE and this storyline. If after it all you’re not happy, speak your truth, but don’t judge the movie before the final scene.

TKO has slowly been killing my love for wrestling. All we wanted was a blood feud between 2 guys with 20 years of history but no celebs need involved bc we can't sell our overpriced tickets. I was at Mania last year too before bootlickers say "you don't even attend the shows."

@AndrewBaydala Pretty sure we’re all hoping that it’s not just Pat, no shocker there. Pissing the IWC off properly right before their biggest show, that’s struggling to sell-out, is def a choice. They’re taking a big gamble here, I personally don’t have the faith they’ll pull it off.

Morning- The beautiful thing about this app, and pro-wrestling, is that everyone can have an opinion or a "take". So have discussion and constructive criticism without bashing or believing your OPINION is the end-all be-all. I rewatched #SmackDown- I stated last night, and I will say it again, I dig @PatMcAfeeShow a lot-genuine good dude. Pat being Randy's guy two weeks before #WrestleMania seems like a major miss IF he's the actual guy. The whole character doesn't fit Pat, and if this is to play into the character he is going to play on Tulsa King, and the creative was to blend them....it's again a MISS. Pat's being the biggest #WWE brand ambassador, and has gone above and beyond to help the product, and truthfully, the fans don't want to boo Pat because they know how much he has done and wants to do for the brand. WWE has some time, and they love to sit back and watch the "IWC" go nuts, then swerve them, and I believe that will be the case here, and Pat will be a PART of the whole "more than one royal family", as Pat has NO lineage that is a part of pro-wrestling. The bigger problem for me outside of Cody Rhodes is that #SmackDown was absolutely brutal. I WELCOME your proper discussion.
