@SensCentral What will Anaheim give us to take him? Or, how much salary will they eat? Otherwise, why take someone else's bad signing?

Lots of great debate on this subject, love it. One thing's for sure; #Sens would have a great sense on the player/person considering Steve Staios (who acquired him in OHL and then won a championship) could assign his Pro Scout Dale McTavish (Mason's dad) to write the report lol
SensCentral@SensCentral

Carp, Ontario native Mason McTavish was a healthy scratch for the Anaheim Ducks in Game 2 vs VGK. McTavish is 23 years old and signed for 5 more seasons at $7 M AAV. Should the #Sens consider trading for the former 3rd overall draft pick?

🚨 University professors have been saying AI is completely destroying learning and that we'll soon have an AI-powered, semi-illiterate workforce. Here's a glimpse into the educational apocalypse: "Sarah, a freshman at Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, said she first used ChatGPT to cheat during the spring semester of her final year of high school. (...) After getting acquainted with the chatbot, Sarah used it for all her classes: Indigenous studies, law, English, and a “hippie farming class” called Green Industries. “My grades were amazing,” she said. “It changed my life.” Sarah continued to use AI when she started college this past fall. Why wouldn’t she? Rarely did she sit in class and not see other students’ laptops open to ChatGPT. Toward the end of the semester, she began to think she might be dependent on the website. She already considered herself addicted to TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and Reddit, where she writes under the username maybeimnotsmart. “I spend so much time on TikTok,” she said. “Hours and hours, until my eyes start hurting, which makes it hard to plan and do my schoolwork. With ChatGPT, I can write an essay in two hours that normally takes 12.” - "By November, Williams estimated that at least half of his students were using AI to write their papers. Attempts at accountability were pointless. Williams had no faith in AI detectors, and the professor teaching the class instructed him not to fail individual papers, even the clearly AI-smoothed ones. “Every time I brought it up with the professor, I got the sense he was underestimating the power of ChatGPT, and the departmental stance was, ‘Well, it’s a slippery slope, and we can’t really prove they’re using AI,’” Williams said. “I was told to grade based on what the essay would’ve gotten if it were a ‘true attempt at a paper.’ So I was grading people on their ability to use ChatGPT.” - AI in education is a serious topic, and many schools and universities are blindly jumping into the "AI-first" wave without considering short and long-term consequences. It would be great to hear more from teachers and educators to understand potential solutions. This might be a great opportunity for rethinking the education system and how students are assessed. - 👉 Link to the full article below. 👉 To learn more about AI's legal and ethical challenges, join my newsletter's 94,700+ subscribers (link below).

@Inadvertantview @MarcoFoster_ @jamestalarico @TeamTalaricoHQ Lady, I have an MBA and scored in the top 3%. I've helped people make and raise millions. Look me up. I'm a public person. You're either a 🤡 or a bot. Simple Keynesian economics shows how income and wealth disparity weakens demand, reducing supply needs and cutting jobs.

I’m sorry, Stacy, but this is an unmoving argument. It’s all giddy up and no go. Somewhere in this thread, you can see that just these three men have employed as of December of last year over 2 million people. Over their lifetime more than tens of millions of people. But what people like you do is try to make us hate them. I would venture a guess you have very little financial/economic education and even less experience, although you might be smart. Communism and socialism do not work. Not in the United States. It’s life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Not till you hit an arbitrary ceiling and Stacy decides otherwise.

James Talarico: “Young people can’t afford to buy a home, but Jeff Bezos has 12. Young people can’t afford to fill up their gas tank, but Mark Zuckerberg is launching helicopters from his mega-yacht. Young people pay more than their fair share of income taxes, but someone like Elon Musk can get away without paying a penny”

@Inadvertantview @MarcoFoster_ @jamestalarico @TeamTalaricoHQ Not if they built it by bribing politicians to get access. Not if what they built preys on young people with algorithms that cause depression but drive "clicks". Not if they destroy the planet and leave everyone else to clean up the mess. Should I go on?

I wonder how many people Bezos Zuckerberg and Musk employ around the world. How many millionaires have they made out of their workers and investors. How much philanthropic work have they done. It’s so easy to point at the big guys without realizing what they do. Does anybody need to be worth $10 trillion? No. But if they built it, it’s theirs. It’s not mine.

@AnneDornPhilly @DPearsonPHL @lymanstoneky We have a 6 yr old and a backyard. But, there are trees, patio stones, bees/wasps and she has anaphylaxis. Unstructured play, yes. But, unsupervised? I'm not there yet. She gets 20 minutes screen/day, but she prefers reading, and plays outside a lot, just not alone.

@DPearsonPHL @lymanstoneky I was more overprotective with my oldest. It was watching her grow up that made me realize that the magic day when they start making flawless decisions never arrives. You have to ramp up the responsibility gradually, or they will never be ready at any age.

My oldest is 6. Her age peers: -25% already have a smartphone -spend 7.2 HOURS/wk on internet devices -58% aren't even allowed to play IN THEIR OWN YARD without supervision -get less than 40 minutes/week outside without supervision -socialize with friends only 2.2 hrs/wk

@EverydaySens First PP, the guy gives up a breakaway. High risk, high reward. We weren't that desperate until Game 4 without Sanderson, Zub and only half a Chabot.

Carter Yakemchuk assisted on both goals today. His 2 points ranked second on the Sens overall. That is absolutely insane. Guess they should've tried him earlier after all.

@EverydaySens Maybe he was waiting for a teammate? Until Kleven lowered the boom on Nikishin, Tkachuk may not have thought he had an ally. If they're gonna play like this, they'll need more toughness than just Greig and Kleven, or they'll end up with no defensemen in a series.

The question I'm left with is where was this Brady Tkachuk all series? 0 points and -3 is one thing, but this type of physical dominance is what he needed to do from game one. Said it all year... we know how game-changing he can be when he wants to be (see the game vs NYI as well). Just odd.

@AdrianNeves17 @SensCentral While the Sens were missing their top 3 defensemen, had a 4th playing with a broken forearm, and a 5th playing with a broken jaw. And we lost 2-0, 3-2 (2OT), 2-1 and 4-2 (2 EN). But, sure, not comparable. Congratulations on the win, but don't be a dink.

@SunGarrioch Bruce, time to retire. But, before you do, please tell the Sens PP to shoot the puck in, preferably to a corner where Andersen can't play it. If they're lining 4 people up on the blueline, it's a free puck in the corner.

@SunGarrioch To be fair, playing 3 minutes continuous after being concussed likely exacerbated the effects. The Sens coaching and training staff absolutely screwed up last night. They saw the hit to the head, and then kept playing Sanderson.

@ESPNRefNHL @topshelfhkyvids @CJ_Stevenson @TSNJR But, if Sanderson stays down and appears injured, like Martinook did after the Tkachuk hit, it probably gets reviewed, right? Otherwise, why would "He did not appear injured" factor into your commentary above. So, we're soccer now.

@topshelfhkyvids @CJ_Stevenson @TSNJR I disagree, Mike. That is a two minute penalty IMO. A match penalty is assessed for deliberate injury or an attempt to injure. He did not appear injured, nor did the ref feel it was an attempt to injure therefore he called two minutes. No need for review

Whether you think Hall should have gotten 5 or not, that has to be reviewed as a 5 minute major like Tkachuks was. That makes no sense for a league purportedly trying to take head shots out of the game
