@libsoftiktok I certainly do. There is no comparison on accuracy and reliability. I wish people understood that getting news from twitter makes you less informed, not more informed. Notice how people love legacy media when they like the story, but hate it when they don’t.

🧵THREAD: Is Trump's hunch about foreign influence in SCOTUS correct? After the Supreme Court's 6-3 ruling on tariffs, Trump said "It's my opinion that the court has been swayed by foreign interests and a political movement that is far smaller than people would ever think." Trump is likely referring to the ideology of supranationalism -- a centuries-old ideology that considered tariffs to be among the highest economical blunders, not for economic reasons, but because tariffs dare to assert national rights in a telos of universal liberalism. But is he right about the foreign influence? As has been widely reported, @MikeBenzCyber has unpacked the details of the friendship between John Roberts and Norm Eisen, and their Prague vacations where they discussed "American and European rule-of-law issues" together. But there's more to it. A lot more. 👇 As always, patience as I pull the thread together.

Colorado is now requiring lawyers in the State, as a condition of logging into its court e-filing system, to promise not to cooperate with federal authorities in enforcing federal immigration law. Please understand: - I do not practice immigration law. - I do not practice criminal law. - Nothing about my civil practice has anything to do with this. And yet because I cannot log into the State's official e-filing system without saluting The Resistance, I now cannot represent my clients, file lawsuits, access cases, file documents in existing cases, etc. If I click "Decline," it kicks me out of the system. I must click "Accept" to access the system and continue representing my civil clients -- again, in cases that have absolutely nothing to do with immigration law or policy. I've read SB 25-276 (the law referred to below). It does not regulate me as a private attorney or any of the clients I represent in civil matters. This is outrageous draconian overreach. I have ethical obligations to my clients to represent them competently. My existing cases have running deadlines that I must attend to. Judges issue orders in my cases that I must follow. If I don't click "Accept" in order to access the State's e-filing system, I will harm my clients, torpedo my practice, and probably commit malpractice. So, I have no choice. I'm clicking "Accept" under protest.

@anneapplebaum The EU,with its globalist agenda, abandoned the US. Stopping Iran from owning nuclear bombs is such an obvious global interest, & yet the EU made up ideological excuses to stay out of the fight to the extent of forgoing the protection of its own interests. It's laughable but sad.

𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗬 𝗞𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗚 𝗜𝗦𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗗! - Iran needs to hear a very clear and direct message from the United States right now. If you do not immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz and guarantee safe passage for every ship, WE WILL COMPLETELY LEVEL KHARG ISLAND. That is not a threat. That is a promise. Kharg Island is the BACKBONE OF THEIR ENTIRE OIL ECONOMY. It handles nearly ninety percent of all Iranian crude exports. Take that out and their cash flow from oil stops almost overnight. The regime loses its main lifeline and the money they use to fund terror around the world dries up fast. Yes, oil prices might spike temporarily if we are forced to strike. But the second the Strait of Hormuz opens again and the tankers start flowing freely, that pressure comes right off and prices will come crashing back down. The disruption would be short. The lesson would last forever. This is our ace in the hole. This is the big card we hold that changes everything. We should play it without hesitation. The Iranian regime understands only one thing: real strength. Weakness invites more aggression. Decisive action brings peace. Under strong leadership we do not play games. We end problems. And this problem can be ended very quickly if they know we are serious. The Strait will open. American interests will be protected. Peace through strength works when you actually use the strength.

You called me a liar because “there are no cameras allowed.” You’re right. There are no cameras inside the Supreme Court. I wasn’t in attendance. I listened to the live audio broadcast — the same audio the Supreme Court released to every major network and C-SPAN in real time. Millions of Americans did the same thing. Then, when the 139-page transcript was published on the Supreme Court’s own website that afternoon, I read every single page of it. All 44,000 words. Every justice. Every question. Every answer. I couldn’t see the eye rolls every time Jackson opened her mouth. But I didn’t need to. The transcript did all the work. You didn’t read the transcript. You didn’t listen to the audio. You just assumed I was lying because the facts made your side look bad. That’s not bad faith. That’s called doing the reading. You should try it sometime. 🦋

I am watching the Supreme Court oral arguments and I need to talk about Ketanji Brown Jackson. I have sat through corporate negotiations where the other side didn’t know their own numbers. I have watched people bluff at poker tables with their cards showing. I have read legal briefs written by first-year associates at 3 AM that had more coherent reasoning than what I just heard. This woman should never negotiate a contract. She should never play poker. She should never practice law. And she should absolutely never appear on Jeopardy because Alex Trebek would have come back from the grave just to ask her to stop. Her questioning today wasn’t questioning. It was confusion with a microphone. She wasn’t probing the legal arguments. She was lost in them. The attorneys were answering her questions and she didn’t understand her own follow-ups. This is a Supreme Court Justice. This is a lifetime appointment. This is a woman sitting on the highest court in the land deciding who is and isn’t an American citizen. She shouldn’t be judging science fair projects. I don’t care who appointed her. I don’t care what she looks like. I care that the person interpreting the Constitution of the United States can follow a legal argument from beginning to end without getting lost in her own hypotheticals. The other justices — agree with them or not — asked sharp questions. They tested the boundaries of the arguments. They pushed both sides. That’s what oral arguments are for. She pushed nothing. She wandered. And the country is supposed to trust her with the most consequential constitutional question of the century. God help us. 🥃🦋

Dissenting Opinions have changed SCOTUS rulings in future cases. Notable dissents are Dred Scott v. Sandford, Plessy v. Ferguson, 1. Justice John Marshall Harlan’s lone dissenting opinion in Plessy v. Ferguson Protesting the majority’s separate-but-equal doctrine, Harlan insisted that “[o]ur Constitution is color-blind and neither knows nor tolerates classes among citizens.” Harlan’s view was embraced 58 years later in Brown v. Board of Education, when the court condemned racial segregation as a violation of constitutional equal protection. 2. Dred Scot was quoted.
