I think there are ppl who already modded their hiluxes to run on biofuels which is pretty cool, but like I said you still need parts and tooling if you want to keep a vehicle running and an immaculately maintained vehicle with infinite fuel still can’t drive on fucked up or blocked roads

The dumbest doomsday prepper trend I see is the Mad Max style power fantasy apocalypse vehicle builds. Gasoline and diesel only last about 3–6 months, maybe up to two years if you use fuel stabilizer and store them in a temperature-controlled environment. That’s going to put your badass road warrior/fuel raider fantasy to rest real quick in an actual SHTF scenario. People also tend to underestimate just how much it takes to keep a car running in less than ideal environments without easy access to new tires, belts, electronics and tools. Even if you somehow have an endless magical supply of vehicle parts and shelf stable fuel, it still won’t unfuck all the roads

This is literally insane Man moved to a rural town of Hidalgo, Mexico He learned that half the people from the town are living in Springdale, Arkansas I looked into why. They’re all working at Tyson foods, Walmart HQ, etc and Springdale Arkansas is now 42% Mexicans So many people from this small town are in America working that if they all came back at the same time there wouldn’t be enough places for them to stay This is why Americans can’t find jobs. We are completely overrun with foreigner cheap labor And this is a well documented thing Rural areas in states like Hidalgo, Michoacán, Jalisco, and others in central Mexico have long histories of economic migration to the US They all come over here illegally or legally on Visas and take our jobs They’re called chain migration networks. People from the same hometown cluster together, send remittances home, and sponsor more relatives. Entire social networks from one Mexican town now live in Springdale Absolutely insane. Send them ALL back. We have been completely sold out

@YueKuratsu Older drive were mostly SCSI. And then we got IDE or E-IDE, I can't remember. One good thing older dye on R & RW media were better than the ones that were used later in 2000s. I got CDR's from 1990s that still work compared to faulty ones burned in 2000s.

Anyone who used this type of CD-R back then was a true veteran. They’d buy the shortest cable to connect the drive, or even custom-make one to minimize jitter. While writing, they’d close all apps, freezing without touching a key or mouse. If the burn failed, they’d literally see a $10 bill ascending to heaven. 💸💀
