I had an interview about this and during it I coalesced around why this might have hit a nerve.
A lot of game devs were probably sold the dream of working in a studio, having some stability and working on what you love, but we've learned there is no such thing as stability 1/3

Posted on LinkedIn last night, woke up to several hundred notifications, friends requests, etc. Seems I struck a nerve in the industry by saying I wanted to create my own projects and not be at the mercy of execs. It's going to have to be smaller studios and smaller projects.

@pixaeriart @SamSantala Its the unfortunate nature of the beast. Entertainment is based on ppl wanting something, trends that move too quickly. Yes I wish there was a VFX or game studio with endless money that can have stable jobs but that is not reality.

@MR3Dev @SamSantala I also work in VFX and whilst ”it is what it is” i also don’t believe we should be complacent about it. Creativity should not be a playground for the rich. The reason stability isn’t offered is because the pay scale is grossly dipped towards a couple of head honchos, lets be real
