Here the #desert #elephants are standing alongside bricks made by the #communities we work with in #Mali. These bricks are dried in the sun, and then used for building houses and walls.

New photos of the #Mali #desert #elephants sleeping soundly! #Elephants mostly sleep while standing, but also lie down to sleep every few days. Elephants are the shortest sleeping mammal.

The Mali Elephant Project team are just back from a visit to #Mali. A highlight of the trip was attending the fantastic festival of the #environment, to which we were invited by the Ministry of the Environment.
