In college, we had a roommate who was a pathological liar. He was way behind on rent, claimed to have gotten a job at the movie theater a few blocks away. By the time the end of the month rolled around, he said he still didn't have the money for rent. When he was about to "leave for work" one of my other roommates told him "I don't think you actually have a job, and I am going to go down to the theater and find out, so you can fess up now." He said, "no, I really work there." My non-deadbeat roommate went to the theater, asked for him by name, they said "who?", he explained the situation, and the manager (almost certainly against company policy) showed him the work schedule and that no one by that name worked there. When we confronted him, he had absolutely no shame about lying to our faces, and making us go through this charade. I think about that story whenever I find out about another one of Harris's or Walz's obviously disprovable lies.
