England is just Tottenham of the National Teams. They scored penalties twice and corners and yet Croatia outplayed them easily. I’ve never seen a team parked the BUS against Croatia except England. #Worldcup #England #Croatia

These Rice outswingers are incredible man, what a player. Load it up every time, pub thinks it’s a goal every time he’s over one.

@Matt_Law_DT The break is not ONLY for England. It is for a whole tournament. If your team can’t change like others, it’s your problem. On ones has responsibility to make easy for England

Penalty to England... Modric swings to clear & catches Madueke. Kane's penalty saved but... the keeper is off his line! To be retaken. His back foot looked very close to the line...

@Ruxiiii4 THERE’s no Midfield when in ball playing. All ther players positioning in both wide areas. No midfield

Some thoughts on Portugal. It wasn’t a very good first half, but some of the ideas make sense to me. First, I like the full-back roles. Keeping Nuno Mendes deeper helps with rest defence and occasionally allows him to exploit space in behind when it is available. But I wouldn’t push him into the last line too often. It doesn’t make sense because you need him for rest defence, and Pedro Neto needs to stay wide and hold the touchline. On the other hand, allowing Cancelo to push higher brings something different in the final third and gives Bernardo more freedom to move inside. Cancelo won’t contribute much to rest defence anyway, so his value is higher in more advanced positions. I also like starting Neto ahead of Leão. First, because of the discipline issues that can affect team management. Second, because Pedro Neto can attack space in behind, and Portugal needs a runner with so many players who like to come to the ball: Bruno, Bernardo, Cancelo, Vitinha, and even Cristiano. Leão has the athleticism to attack depth, but he often prefers to receive to feet. There is one thing I don’t like, though, and it could become a concern. When you play with a midfield of Vitinha, João Neves, and Bruno Fernandes, your counter-press is essential. Look at PSG’s counter-pressing: without it, it becomes very difficult to succeed. If you get pinned back, you can suffer because those midfielders lack physicality. That’s why PSG puts so much emphasis on counter-pressing. It’s the same reason Flick keeps such a high line: because players like De Jong and Pedri can struggle if they have to defend in a lower block. Portugal’s counter-press wasn’t good enough. With the ball I would also give a bit more freedom to Bruno Fernandes or Bernardo Silva to receive more often in deeper zones, as this could also help improve the counter-press.

@terryflewers The contact was made by Mbappe, not by Mane and it’s not Premier League to award penalties for every single touch

That’s how you start #WorldCup. Tricky games are coming so this 3 point and goals are HUGE. Happya for Musiala. Brown, Havertz,Flo and Dndav ands Nico are sooo good. A whole team performed as expected except Sane and a few sloppy moments, which #Germany can’t afford against better side. Come on Germany. #Worldcup2026

@InvertTheWing It’s what happens when you have a “ I’m different “ syndrome. Anyanoui is good and well rated but he didn’t do better than Bouaddi. It’s OK to agree with majority sometimes 😂

Don’t understand why all the talk is on Bouaddi (good player), felt El Anyanoui was much better today. Underrated.

Hello Jamal my bro. I’m from Myanmar, a Y. Your HUGE fan here. I know you’re not at your best like you want to be since you experience horrific injury and some people doubt your ability. Guess what? A lot of people believe in you and trust your ability. May your god help you to find confidence you had in the past. May you become even BETTER, GREATER, SPECIAL PLAYER than ever before. All the best bro. I’ve owned ONLY one kit with the name in my life and that’s Marco Reus. But now I bought a Germany kit with your name and number on it. I believe in you. Come on Jamal. You got this. 💪💪 Good luck at World Cup @JamalMusiala @DFB_Team #Germany #Musiala #Worldcup

Regardless of Müller and Klopp's suggestion to drop him, Jamal Musiala is Julian Nagelsmann's clear starter in central attacking midfield. He has consistently been in the starting lineup during all training sessions over the past few days. Barring any further injuries, Musiala will start behind Kai Havertz against Curaçao tomorrow, with Deniz Undav starting on the bench [@BILD]

Imagine Jamal see or hear this at his lowest ( of course he sees this) He did everything he can when he’s at his best and make easier for teammates, and now he’s not at his best yet and needs support, everyone is against trusting him. WC hasn’t started yet and there are already two groups in one team. Sad. #WorldCup #Germany

Deniz Undav on Thomas Müller and Jürgen Klopp suggesting that he should start at #10 ahead of Musiala on Sunday: "First of all, I was very pleased. That shows I'm doing something right. The coach has many options. In the end, it doesn't matter who starts. You can rely on those who will play. But I was happy to hear that from the two of them. And now we'll see who plays. I think it's good because Thomas knows a lot about football. If he has something to criticize or praise, then it's probably well-founded. I'm happy when someone like Thomas criticizes or praises me. If he criticizes me, then of course he does it with a good intention, so that I can do better next time. Therefore: No matter what Thomas says, he's entitled to it."
