The Trump administration's newest corruption scheme just dropped. Kash Patel may be using the FBI's budget as his personal slush fund to pay agents tens of thousands of dollars in exchange for carrying out illegal orders, or as hush money to keep quiet about what they witnessed.
Kyle Griffin@kylegriffin1

MS NOW EXCLUSIVE: Kash Patel may have a 'personal slush fund' of taxpayer dollars to pay loyalist agents, according to Rep. Jamie Raskin. Raskin is demanding documents from Patel — citing claims that $8,000 payments are made to agents who carry out "unlawful partisan and personal orders." ms.now/news/kash-pate…

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Iran gets access to $6 billion of its own frozen oil revenue in Qatar to buy humanitarian goods and non-sanctioned US products The phasing is the actual mechanism here. Releasing it in stages rather than all at once means Washington keeps a lever to pull if Iran doesn't hold up its end during the negotiation period. It's less a gift and more a metered tap; turned a little at a time, watched closely, and shut off the moment compliance slips. Incremental trust, incremental release, incremental risk. 🇺🇸🇮🇷 Trump just denied the $300 billion figure outright: "There is no 300 Billion Dollar payment to Iran by the U.S. That's Fake News! All there is for the U.S. is Success, Lower Oil Prices, and Victory." He's not wrong that it's not a US payment, the $300 billion is a privately funded investment pool, not a check from the Treasury. But calling the number itself fake, rather than clarifying who's actually funding it, muddies a distinction his own Vice President is trying to carefully draw. Writer: Oliver

🇺🇸🇪🇺 Hegseth told Europe to stop treating America like NATO’s full-time security guard. At a NATO meeting in Brussels, Hegseth pushed a “NATO 3.0” reboot and said European allies need to take the lead defending their own continent. The U.S. recently told allies it may no longer provide some aircraft carriers, refueling planes, fighter jets, and other major assets in a crisis. Article 5 is still there, but Washington is making it very clear that Europe needs to bring more to the table than panic and paperwork. Source: Associated Press / Writer: Julie

@StealthQE4 I disagree, I do agree a lot of the FED want to raise, but as the war dies down and a flood of oil it’s the market those number two pencils will erase the FEDs current thoughts.

Warsh will be a solid Fed Chair. He will speak quietly but carry a big stick. The Fed got too “popular”. Too many Fed speeches. Too many people watching the FOMC. Too many TV interviews Back in the day the Fed would adjust rates to inflation and barely anyone noticed.

@VividProwess Trump is telling countries you run your country the way you want, protect yourself as a country we won’t fuck with you, you don’t fuck with us and let’s build our country’s by trade and let’s come together where we find common ground, not war.

I don’t recognize President Trump sometimes. His tone, his way of words, the way he somehow, for some degree, defends the number one sponsor of terror, the Islamic regime of Iran, while at the same time criticizing Israel for defending itself. What on earth is going on?

It’s regrettable that the president has directed Jay Clayton not to appear at his confirmation hearing today. Mr. Clayton is a patriot and a highly qualified nominee, as the president has said repeatedly. While today’s hearing is now unfortunately postponed, I look forward to proceeding with his confirmation in the near future.

@StealthQE4 The boomers in California are responsible for all the new building regulations that drove up housing. A permit to fix a deck was 2k. To add on to your house cans be 30k-40k in permits, plus takes years to get approved! That was the boomers!

🇺🇸🇮🇷 The Iran deal text is reportedly so vague that U.S. officials are already telling everyone not to read it too closely. They said the memorandum, which Vance says runs a page and a half, is "a political document" meant to give Tehran something to sell at home. The parts the Trump administration is actually counting on, like U.S. involvement in destroying Iran's enriched uranium on site, aren't in it. Those are back-channel commitments. On paper, Iran only "reiterates that it will never produce nuclear weapons," the same line it gave Obama in 2015. What is spelled out clearly is the money: sanctions waivers, frozen funds, and a $300 billion development fund. Source: CNN / Writer: Julie

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Trump’s Iran strategy is being framed as a simple bargain: the damage is done, the leverage is secured, and Tehran now gets one chance. VP Vance argues Trump destroyed Iran’s nuclear program, opened the Strait of Hormuz, and can now offer Iran a choice between cooperation and isolation. “We accomplished what we set out to accomplish, and now we have, as the president says, all the cards.”
