Theo Von needs to understand where his bread is buttered. He's liked by everyone because he doesn't really wade too far into politics and doesn't rage. Out of every comedian I can think of, he seems like one of the most down-to-earth and like the golden retriever, like he's just happy to be in the room, no matter what room.
In my view, it's a misstep to step away from the persona he's cultivated for himself, and he is stepping away from it, whether he realizes it or not.
