I built a website for the 2027 NFL Draft that tracks how prospects rise and fall throughout the entire pre-draft process. Consensus big boards. Community rankings. Player movement tracking. nutshellsportz.com

@DevyEusuf Feels like that could definitely be used as a helpful stat. It is probably closer to “impactful plays” than true “explosive plays,” but it is similar and still valuable information.

@NutshellSportz Why not just use EPA, if available? Let's say 1+ EPA is an explosive play.

Star QB Brendan Sorsby is applying to enter the NFL Supplemental Draft, sources tell NFL Network. After legal wrangling about his NCAA eligibility, Sorsby — regarded as a first-round talent — now could be the highest-drafted supplemental pick in decades.

@Ihartitz When he inevitably goes on IR after 3 snaps, you can grab your favorite waiver-wire player and win twice.

A look at Run Threat Rate across the NFL Run Threat Rate is the percentage of plays where a team either runs the ball or uses play action. This compares each team’s rate when leading or tied versus when trailing to show how much they abandon the run when playing from behind. Interestingly, the Colts and Saints actually had a higher Run Threat Rate when trailing. Play-action designations via @FTNFantasy charting data.

A look at separation adjusted for average route depth at the team level The Bears were truly in a class of their own. Ben Johnson consistently put his receivers in position to get open.

This is no doubt also tied to a QB’s willingness to attempt tight-window throws and trust his receivers on jump balls. That can bring separation down without necessarily hurting production. Some offenses are also built around short throws, where receivers are already expected to be more open. So they need to create even more separation than expected for it to be a positive.

@NutshellSportz I find it interesting that there are several passing offenses that are really good that aren’t in the top half of this?

The idea for this chart came from a comment @robertmays made on The Athletic Football Show while discussing the Bears’ supporting cast. I expected the Bears to rank highly since several players were near the top in adjusted average separation, but even I did not expect the gap to be this extreme.

A look at all four rookie QBs’ targets by route type in 2025 Interesting to see how differently each QB was used and how successful, or unsuccessful, they were on those throws Route data via @FTNFantasy charting
