@DavidDeutschOxf finally someone actually goes to the source. we typically taught it under the political compass, those high on the f-scale were up higher on the top 2 quadrants. making current usages of the word just intellectually offensive

@SallyMayweather It's criminally easy to get others accounts shut down unfortunately, then when you are exonerated they report again, wait a week, and so on.

I know X isn’t perfect, but it rly is the last large public forum where you can speak your mind without being deplatformed.
Bitcoin.com@BitcoinCom

YouTube deleted our channel for being "harmful and dangerous." Our content since 2015: #Bitcoin education. Wallet tutorials. Objective news. YouTube's content: crypto scam ads running 24/7 with zero moderation. Appeal rejected. No strikes. No explanation. Just an algorithm that can't tell a 10-year-old company from an actual scam. @TeamYouTube — can we get a human, or do we need to buy an ad first?

Absolutely insane that my truck hasn’t lost ONE DOLLAR in value after NINE YEARS and 90,000 more miles on the odometer. A testament to how crappy new American cars are. People will pay MORE for an older vehicle to OPT OUT of all the janky bells and whistles new ones come with.

@heresyfinancial i wish that more people understood that this form of money creation is highly skewed towards a certain class, making many secondary arguments moot. basically the bankers control society, metaphorically and literally. it's why debanking is such an issue/cancelled/

Printing money is how they plan to solve the debt problem One minor issue: money isn't actually "printed" - it's loaned into existence So in order to deal with the debt problem, their only tool is to create more debt The only situation in which this actually works is if the new debt increases productivity (the growth of real wealth) faster than prices Time will tell

@ronrule education / knowledge really. and there's a long history of this, same for the left in england historically. basically working folks don't read theory. it's why populism has a bad taste for many parties. doesn't help that both parties are mostly consultant class now

I find it odd how the blue collar career paths most important to society and infrastructure are looked down on by the left, while simultaneously they praise useless degrees like Gender Studies and encourage kids to pursue nonsense like that. What’s the explanation for this?

@libpol_org @mattyglesias @brklynmind I am skeptical that you are skeptical, more than likely you are just being a dick. This happened to hundreds of thousands of people. It probably would've happened to me too, but i wasn't on at the time.

@ProtestBusters @mattyglesias @brklynmind I am skeptical that your aunt got banned from pre-Elon Twitter for saying she got side effects from the COVID vaccine. (But, in any case, yes, a corporation being overzealous in moderation is not as bad as the federal government threatening to violate the first amendment.)

The left has not always covered itself in glory on free speech, but Brendan Carr’s repeated explicit efforts to use the FCC to censor television news is so far beyond anything else that’s happened in recent American life.
Brendan Carr@BrendanCarrFCC

More outrageous conduct from CNN. Fake news is bad enough for the country, but pushing out a hoax headline in such a sensitive national security moment as this requires accountability. Iran put out an official statement that simply cannot be squared with the one CNN's false headline attributes to them. Time for change at CNN.

@creatrix_ttv @newengland_npc Never mix the crowd at Diesel with the crowd that goes downtown. But I haven't lived there for a few years, and only visit about every three months so could be off. It does seem to be less than 10-15 years ago tho. Could jus be millenials being more outgoing.

I'll probably get pushback for this, but it's also because NH is lacking the cultural vitality that actually makes young people want to stay. NH has one of the oldest populations in the US, and young adults are the most likely group to leave. If it was mostly because they were getting priced out, young adults wouldn't be disproportionately leaving NH for metro hubs that are even more expensive. (& even higher taxes!) They’re moving to places with more opportunity & just more going on in general. Third places & social infrastructure matters!
Greg Moore@GregMooreNH

Everyone in NH knows that most Granite Staters weren't born here. The flip side of that is that a whole lot of people who were born here move away. A big chunk of the reason for that is that we don't have enough housing here and young people are getting priced out.

@newengland_npc I think this is only true of Gen Z's bottom quintile. The smart and driven ones are moving to metro areas and touching grass. Brain drain is very reaaal.

@ScubaForDogs @ZaidJilani Probably the only way that Trump is "better" than other politicians is he usually breaks the glass and says what he / his administration thinks. It's a low bar but i'd much rather have a pol say what they actually think than cloud it in PR.

@ProtestBusters @ZaidJilani I'm not saying he was good or even better than what we currently have. He was a monster. But he at least had a basic grasp of how politics are supposed to work. He was fundamentally good at the job of being a politician even if he was very bad at the job of governing.

The last national Democrat who was really good at politics was Barack Obama and he had to defeat an established political family to do it. Ro is right that Dems need new blood now.

@mattyglesias @brklynmind There was a monopoly on information sources during covid, which most cons remember if they were against the mask mandates. My aunt got banned from this site for merely complaining that her covid shot made her feel wierd for a few days. Compared to that, the fcc thing isbullocks

@brklynmind I think that given the overall rightward skew of the audience on Twitter it is more persuasive to try to frame things in a way that anticipate conservative objections and show that I understand where they are coming from.

@mysteriouskat twitter was used to help start the arab spring, through social media manipulation in arab countries. when you talk about 5th generation warfare this is what it is. One reason why twitter was so full of former spooks and whatnot. It's written about by yasha levine etc. on this

Ignore the red or blue bubbles. And yes, it might not be 100% accurate. But it does represent a certain type of user that indeed does best and goes viral on the platform: sensationalist, rage baity, often spreading falsehoods...that's what these bubbles ultimately represent.
