@Shrink_at_Large It's a case of to big to fail #UniversalCredit it was the biggest overhaul to the benefit in history. Yet it failed so badly instead of scrapping it instead they have spent billions since the 1st year which is now so overbudget there's no money even if we had a plan b.

Even the OBR has admitted past disability benefit reforms (like the move from DLA to PIP) didn’t save what was promised. And Universal Credit delays dragged on for years. But still—they press ahead though we are gaining real momentum against these deadly Cuts.

New: “A major rebellion appears to be hardening on the Labour benches rather than subsiding, despite frantic efforts by whips and government ministers to talk MPs round”. More and more MPs are increasingly on side👏 keep up the pressure🙌 spoons allowing💫 tinyurl.com/2hjeexra

#PIP The vile & toxic department of worry & persecution are sending out a horrific survey to to ask disabled people in receipt of PIP how they spend their money The DWP have no legal right to ask & you have no legal obligation to fill it in

If anyone wants to give DWP the massive middle finger effectively, and haven't done this already, perform a Subject Access Request for any and all date they hold on you, including webchats, phonecalls, and any other data. It'll be free and costs them money (around £500...

@MartinJBonner Which instantly means the baglog will already be bad and as each day passes it will grow worse. That's what happens when you try and fix failure with failure and it's the claiment that always suffers from any failure.

The DWP have responded to my FoI request. Their figures indicate that 87% of clamants currently receiving PIP daily living component at the standard rate, and 13% of claimants receiving the enhanced rate, are likely to lose their entitlement if the "score 4" changes go ahead.

@LurgeeLife @de_varse As expected after the promise of fairness or better BS said to the assessment process as officially as stats don't lie the truth is the process has not improved as promised which causes great concern towards my own health as there is no guarantee of receiving a fair assessment

Another separate DWP FOI tallies with one from 14 Apr '25 👇 indicating 46% of PIP claimants do not score > 4 point on any one daily living component. Total no. of PIP = 2.89m with 1.33m of those scoring < 4 = 46%

This was written by the same people just last week! Nobody would have lost money on HRMC yet when it comes to #dwpgovuk and #UniversalCredit you sign up to fail. Yet even when 32% had failed to sign up resulting in having there benefits terminatied.

So legacy benefits paid by HRMC people have no choice as they are being forced onto #UniversalCredit which everyone will be deeply concerned about. As child poverty payments will be #dwpgovuk responsibility.

“Tax credits will leave a lasting legacy of a welfare system more focused on low-income families with children, which lives on in universal credit.” Read Matt Oulton and Tom Wernham’s full briefing here: ifs.org.uk/articles/how-d…

It would be much easier to write a a book about the #UniversalCredit as there is so much controversy before it even started which am trying to give u some insight but with so many documents that prove UC is by far the worst idea to the benefit system in history. U sign up 2 fail

The Committee expresses concern that those reforms have resulted in severe economic hardship, increased reliance on food banks, homelessness, negative impacts on mental health and the stigmatization of benefit claimants. report from 12th March 2025

The Committee is concerned that measures introduced through the Welfare reform of 2012 and the Welfare Reform in 2016, including benefit cuts and temporary reductions in or the suspension of benefits, have eroded the rights to social security and to an adequate standard of living

@de_varse Yes like sanctions that were untested but took #dwpgovuk 7 years to confirm using there own data they don't work. Did they fix them? Now failed assessments are finally fixed by a simple 4 points system. Have they tested it? Also let's use on disabled people c if they suffer more

@ProvanStuart It's so bizarre that normal safety measures, which are equivalent to seat belts, are dismissed by assessors.

#PIP descriptors. Thread proving someone needing help with *all* the following would not qualify under new rules: cutting food, wash below waist, can’t do therapy w/o others, get out of bath, need prompt re:continence, dress below waist, can't hear/speak + #DisabilityRights

@de_varse This is what I mean by using AI it saves you reading 1000s of BS for months. This was 1 tactic I used against them. The more I learnt it became more apparent that policys were ignored yet the lying was insane. Why because the system didn't work most of the time.
