@RITB_ That's exceptionally kind of you thank you. I really hope we can get this ludicrous plan consigned to dustbin, it'll be lethal otherwise. X

Please give your opinion on PIP future The Terms of Reference reiterate plan to make PIP the sole gateway for extra £ if you can't work due to illness/disability My DWP FOI shows 584,000 LCWRA/ESA failed to qualify for PIP: a 23% failure rate for those too sick/disabled to work

Here is confirmation in Timms PIP review "Terms of Reference" (30 Oct '25) that Govt still plan to scrap the Work Capability Assessment & make qualification for Daily Living PIP the gateway for those who are too ill/disabled to work to access financial support (excl. basic UC)

@Phil_Free_ NP. Yeah I really wish I could say we have nothing else to face/fear in the near future (next year or so)... I've written extensively about the 2025 Autumn White Paper that was shelved/paused. The proposals that were due in that may surface again after the Timms PIP review. Ugh.

@LurgeeLife Following your thread on changes to UC. Are existing claimants going to get a cut next month to the level of a new claimant & then potentially have it restored after another assessment? Or will it potentially be cut only after we’ve had another assessment? Thanks.

@Phil_Free_ Or if an existing claimant starts a job that means they can't qualify for LCWRA anymore but then has to quit that job due to ill health or disability in the future and it's over 6 months since they were last in receipt of LCWRA. Hope that helps.

@Phil_Free_ So the long & short of it is that the only way an existing claimants' LCWRA rate will be cut is if they are kicked off LCWRA following reassessment & are then unsuccessful in appealing that decision but then manage to successfully qualify for LCWRA again in the future.

Before Covid came along, England was doing pretty well with meningococcal disease. Which is great because it's a disease that can *kill a healthy teenager within hours*... ... or leave them alive without limbs, hearing, or memory... But... and it's a really big but... 🧵
