An Edmonton man is facing attempted murder charges after pulling a knife on officers at a downtown LRT station in early March. Morgan Banman, 33, was approached by a Transit Peace Officer and two EPS officers at Corona LRT Station on March 1 after he was seen openly consuming alcohol. Police say he drew a concealed knife and attempted to stab the responding officers before being arrested. No injuries were reported. Officers then connected Banman to a robbery at a liquor store near 113 Street and Jasper Avenue that had occurred roughly 30 minutes before the LRT incident. He now faces charges of attempted murder (x2), assaulting a peace officer with a weapon (x3), possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and robbery.
