THAT'S better. Adding height AND making London more gorgeous & interesting. Bravo to our friend @FTerryArchitect & Finchatton for improving London. No rules of economics or physics stops us making our streets more lovely - only modish malevolence & the curious concept of "pastiche" which mysteriously only applies when evolving styles from pre 1930

@samparrett1 i’m looking forward to open day with my 16 year old nephew @Be_HSDC @altoncollege on Monday. Can’t wait to see what he thinks of the brilliant spaces and lecturers who want to help shape his future in creative media!

I’m getting fed up with the messages coming out of Year 11 & Year 12 from my kids schools this week: ‘If you fail your GCSEs you will end up at college’ ‘we don’t do laissez faire here like at college’ & ‘you are better than college’ - we need to do better than this Colleagues!

@lfeatherstone @esbagshaw @hnjsamuels This is not true. Local authorities have 5 year targets. Many failing, meaning nppf para 11d is engaged, a presumption in favour of permission. This is a direct result of having targets, Without it, thousands of houses would not be built each year, as councils actively avoid!

Tim Farron getting resoundingly and deservedly booed for claiming that an amendment penned by Young Liberals desperate for young people to afford their own home is "the most right wing thing [he has] heard at Conference". Rhetorical gymnastics of the highest order. #ldconf

@DeborahMeaden @MrFixerHQ That comment really lacks awareness of the issue. It's the government not addressing agricultural runoff and water companies not dealing with treatment. Developers or anyone seeking to build a house is held to ransom.

This is about as selfish, short sighted and downright divisive a tweet as I have seen. Build 100k houses just do it in a way that doesn’t poison and pollute… who would want to live in a poisoned land?
Michael Gove@michaelgove

JUST IN Sir Keir Starmer has ordered Labour lords to vote to block 100k new homes, seeking to end the dream of homeownership for thousands of families. This is despite boasting that Labour would be the party of the builders not the blockers x.com/keir_starmer/s…

@Natures_Voice What contribution does new housing make as a percentage compared to agriculture or failing water companies would you say? And is legislation to protect and mitage proportionate to the relative percentage contributions?

@Debbie_Tann @michaelgove The rules were ill focused. Agricultural activity from fertilisers, animal waste and slurry is the main contributor to the issue alongside the failure of water companies to invest in infrastructure, ending up discharging sewage into rivers. What's being done about that?

A "house of architecture" is great and everything, but TBH I'd quite like to hear what RIBA has done about PII premiums, construction inflation, planning reform, climate catastrophe, economic stagnation, cost of living, procurement reform & plummeting fees architectsjournal.co.uk/news/simon-all…

@andymatthews Been waiting for something for 25 years for the mighty club, can't see it happening! Have never seen a good addition pastiche or contemporary in Bath, people struggle how to respond. Even Parry's job is a bit of a miss.

@andymatthews Agreed. Have to say the set piece centred on Johnstone street with a promenade down into the stadium is a pretty nice idea though.

Congratulations Chanida Barrett for passing her part 3 exams to qualify as an architect. Chanida has worked tirelessly towards her final qualifications and has grown immensely in confidence and experience during the long process towards becoming an architect. Well done Chanida!

@CoppiceJT Pv's on a house a few doors down. More concerned with the impact of crazy paving on the next door house in this conservation area than a few innocuous solar panels!
