Congratulations to North Scott's 2024 Athletic Hall of Famers - Frank Wood, Shari Huber, Greg Green and Shawn Gerard. It was a privilege to emcee your inductions. As always, thanks for the memories.
North Scott truly lost a legend today with the passing of Randy (R.D) Denner. Former coach, teacher and Hall of Fame, RD was the longtime "Voice of the Lancers," and the originator of the L-A-N-C-E-R cheer. A true Lancer, through and through. May he rest in peace.
Congratulations to @TBrunkan for being named IFCA, class 4A Assistant Coach of the Year! No one better, tremendous coach, teacher, & person! @NorthScottHS is lucky to have Tim!
@cuellarchris@ChrisMWilliams Awesome job by the two of you. Educational, entertaining and honest. One of the best pods I've heard in a while. Former NS Lancer @cuellarchris is the best. IAHSAA is lucky to have him.
Tuesday is Election Day. Please exercise your right to vote. I'm running for a seat on the Eldridge City Council. If you live in town, I'd appreciate your vote.
I've reported on every single North Scott team state championship in school history. Strange to sit this one out. Have fun with this @rossshinberg. These are special times. It's great to be Lancer.
Looking forward to @RossShinberg 's coverage of North Scott's run at state volleyball, but I gotta tell you, I had a hard time sleeping last night because I kept thinking of all the story lines I'd want to write about. Just a bit jealous. Let's get that state title.
Highlight of the game already:
First play of the game, Kyler Gerardy throws a screen pass to Cash Bowe…. Who throws it to Drew Eller for 60 yards.
Gerardy fires a TD to Hunter Fox three plays later.

@Ryanbaustian Ryan, I just had a nice visit with your grandma last weekend. As always, she made me laugh. So surprised and disheartened by this news. I'm certainly thinking of you.
For the first time in 40 years I won't be on the sidelines at Lancer Stadium tonight. I can still smell the grass and hear the roar. So many fond memories. Best of luck to @Lancer_FB and his Lancers tonight. Maybe @NateNoel15 will let me sneak in one of these nights. Go Lancers.
Gotta admit, it's pretty strange watching state softball from the comfort of my living room. GNorth Scott three outs from a return to the 4A semifinals. Kinda wish I was there. Finish it off @Lancer_sball
Words are difficult to find this morning. Steve Batterson, a sports reporter at the Quad-City Times for 38+ years, died Tuesday afternoon. He was a consummate pro, a workhorse, a great teammate and such a kind-hearted man. He loved his job and did it very well. Rest easy, Batts.
