I disagree that any attraction is immutable. I have several friends who can attest to this fact, having had homosexual attractions but found themselves later no longer holding them. As well as other friends who had no attractions at all but later gained attractions. I also don’t hate homosexuals, I love and want the best for them. I also do NOT agree with that other individual about hating/discriminating against people for truly immutable characteristics such as race or sex.

@todd_thacker @Keith83361 @GrZmNkY09 @TomorrowsWar John 6 doesn’t talk about transubstantiation yet, it talks about consuming His flesh but doesn’t go into the specifics of how Jesus reveals those specifics at the Last Supper It is very central and all of the earliest members of the Church agree

I'm not bashing the Eucharist/Communion/the Last Supper, Jesus told us to do it in memory of Him! That said, it needs to be put in its proper place. Very little of the gospels are about the Last Supper . . . it's not the center of our faith. And my first sentence was noting that the Catholic view of the Last Supper is not a hard teaching, so the people who left Jesus couldn't have thought transubstantiation is what He meant either.

Can you show me any writing from a mainstream Christian leader before 400 AD that looks like modern Protestantism? If the earliest Christians would instantly recognize you but find Catholicism alien, it should be easy to quote them describing a faith that matches yours.
J Heckathorne, the Bible is enough@HeckathorneJay

@TomorrowsWar Hardly. The irony is Catholicism would be unrecognizable if it were biblical; yet the earliest Christian’s would have no problem recognizing you.

Well anyone can pray to God for blessings, even a satanist, though why a satanist would do that I would have no clue. I don’t think I would have any reason to say no to that. But I’m guessing you probably meant to ask Satan for blessings. Well the issue is Satan doesn’t give blessings, he can give limited gifts sure, and those limited gifts may make you happy temporarily, but they certainly are not blessings and will always have negative consequences attached to them. I would have every right to say no to such a scenario because the net outcome can only be bad, if not upon me, then at least upon the one invoking Satan.

For your future information, when someone says “pray over” they mean physically near them usually with hands on them Why would consent matter to pray for someone if no physical boundary is being crossed and no property is being touched or manipulated? It’s like saying you can’t think about or talk positively about someone without their consent. It’s a ludicrous idea.

@ThatOther_Dude @Ponch1620 @Jean_luc_Bowman @sola_chad Considering 1. Abuse rates 2. Pedophilia rates 3. Incontinance rates 4. STD rates 5. Cheating rates Etc. It’s clear something is wrong Thats of course not even mentioning that just like being attracted to a wall outlet, it makes no natural sense to be attracted to the same sex

If I was sexually attracted to an electrical outlet, something that could be harmful for me, would you say there is something wrong with that or not? I would assume you would. For a similar reason there is something wrong with being attracted to the same sex. But I would hope you wouldn’t take basic human rights away from me or imprison or otherwise punish me for having such an attraction and would instead try to get me help to overcome such a disordered attraction. I would hope you would be able to say I am not less of a human, just one in need of help for certain issues, like every other human. A similar thing applies to other disordered attractions. A homosexual person is no less human. Where is the bigotry in what I’m conveying?

@sandtorock @TomorrowsWar Yeah v35 does not contain the verb “eat” nor “drink” v35 contains the statement that does who come and believe in Him will not hunger or thirst. 35-40 are about why Jesus has come down from the Father

@ScoutingAlong @TomorrowsWar Hold on I’m am not following and need to clarify. Are you saying verse 35 doesn’t say drink in it? And are you saying the emphasis is verses 35-40 are not on belief/faith but the means of receiving faith?

@ScoutingAlong @TomorrowsWar I understand how you interpret bread from heaven, I just see it as an over application. In my faith heritage Jesus is using a metaphor. He is appealing to manna so the audience would understand. As we know good communicators use similes and metaphors to help their audiences.

How to be Christian
How to be Christian@How2BeChristian·
Most Protestant ARE NOT Protestants because they have read the Bible and intelligently concluded that it is Protestant. Most Protestants ARE Protestants because they blindly followed someone who falsely claimed that the Bible is Protestant. When Christians actually read the Bible honestly, it becomes clear to them that Protestantism is the product of adding words to the Bible. // ✝️ In John chapter 6, we can read that Jesus said: “Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.” Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.” So they said to him, “Then what sign do you do, that we may see and believe you? What work do you perform? Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’” Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” They said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.” Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” So the Jews grumbled about him, because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” They said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” Jesus answered them, “Do not grumble among yourselves. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day. It is written in the Prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me— not that anyone has seen the Father except he who is from God; he has seen the Father. Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” Jesus said these things in the synagogue, as he taught at Capernaum.” - John 6:25-59 ESV ✝️ // Learn more about the Word of God ⤵️ PART I - “What Does ‘Eat My Flesh’ Mean?”: youtu.be/eWDxM-6T4k0?si… PART II - “What Does ‘Eat My Flesh’ Mean?”: youtu.be/f-jinF-O3fM?si… 🙏 Please pray for this family! ⤵️
