We believe we’re the first robotics company to demonstrate a robot peeling an apple with dual dexterous human-like hands. This breakthrough closes a key gap in robotics, achieving bimanual, contact-rich manipulation and moving far beyond the limits of simple grippers. 🧵↓ Today’s AI models (VLMs) are excellent at perception but struggle with action. Controlling high-degree-of-freedom hands for tasks like this is incredibly complex, and precise finger-level teleoperation is nearly impossible for humans. Our first step was a shared-autonomy system: rather than controlling every finger, the operator triggers pre-learned skills like a “rotate apple or tennis ball” primitive via a keyboard press or pedal. This makes scalable data collection and RL training possible. How does the AI manage this? We created "MoDE-VLA" (Mixture of Dexterous Experts). It fuses vision, language, force, and touch data by using a team of specialist "experts," making control in high-dimensional spaces stable and effective. The combination of these two innovations allows for seamless, contact-rich manipulation. The human provides high-level guidance, and the robot executes the complex in-hand coordination required. This work paves the way for robots that can safely handle delicate tasks in human environments. Proud to host two robotics evangelists in the Sharpa office and see them engage hands-on with our robotic ecosystem. @IlirAliu_ and @TheHumanoidHub spent time teleoperating our Sharpa Wave 22-DoF dexterous hand and enjoyed playing blackjack with our humanoid robot North experiencing firsthand what coordinated manipulation and real-time control feel like in practice. Thanks for the visit, the energy, and for continuing to push the robotics ecosystem forward.

Nothing like using my favorite data glove from @ManusMeta to manipulate the most dexterous humanoid hand on the market Thank you Sharpa for the invitation and hospitality
Sharpa@SharpaRobotics

We recently had the pleasure of hosting the one and only Scott Walter @GoingBallistic5 at Sharpa. During his visit, he met with our VP of GTM, Alicia Veneziani @AliciaV_0726 and our technical team, who walked him through our tactile-driven approach to dexterous manipulation. He controlled the Sharpa Wave using Manus gloves, even playing catch in real time! He also beat our autonomous dealer robot at blackjack, making a perfect 21!

Impressive. Sharpa autonomously installed an NVIDIA GPU using its tactile-sensing dexterous hand (22 DOF) combined with AI (VLA). The task of assembling computers will no longer require human labor in the future.

He couldn't help teasing the Wave and submitting it to the toughest resistance stresses! We believe that he was impressed by the hand's responsiveness, agility and grip strength! We really enjoyed the discussions on tactile AI, and real-world deployment. Thanks to Roland Roventa for joining us as well.

Sharpa Robotics' humanoid robot North demonstrated the ability to assemble a PC autonomously with submillimeter precision at NVIDIA's GTC 2026 conference. The fast-rising Singaporean startup shared footage that shows the wheeled humanoid inserting a GPU into a PCIe slot. The task is extremely challenging for traditional industrial robots due to the tight tolerances and risk of damaging sensitive components. In the video, North finishes the job by securing components with screws and organizing internal wiring using its highly dexterous end effectors. The startup's robotic hand, called the SharpaWave, boasts a reported 22 degrees of freedom (DoF), which approaches the agility and range of motion of human hands. Each fingertip has more than 1,000 touch sensors that detect miniscule changes in pressure and contact so North can adjust its movements to complete delicate tasks. The tactile sensors send updated data on pressure, texture, and force readings up to 180 times per second to the SharpaWave’s artificial intelligence. The AI system uses that stream of data to make split-second decisions on how to move or adjust itself. With 30 N of fingertip force, the SharpaWave can firmly grasp tools, lift common objects, and manipulate parts in industrial or lab settings. It can open and close its fingertips more than four times per second, almost matching the speed of human digits. Thanks to its fine-touch sensors, the SharpaWave can adjust its grip instantly to avoid crushing fragile items. North is powered by Sharpa's self-developed vision-tactile-language-action (VLTA) model, called CraftNet, that's specifically geared toward jobs requiring fine manipulation. The artificial intelligence is designed to handle physical interactions step by step and adapt its behaviors as contact conditions change. Sharpa says it’s begun mass producing its SharpaWave hands but has not publicly disclosed pricing.

Sharpa Robotics is honored to be featured by Jensen Huang during the NVIDIA GTC 2026 keynote! He highlighted work aligned with our partnership with NVIDIA across GR00T, Isaac Lab, TacMap and learning from egocentric human video. We’re also proud that Sharpa Wave, our dexterous robotic hand, is being used by NVIDIA’s GEAR Lab to advance data-efficient robot learning. This is a strong signal for where robotics is headed: scaling intelligence from human data to physical systems. Special Thanks to @NVIDIARobotics & @NVIDIAAI

Watching North build a PC from scratch is a trip, and it is doing it fully autonomously. 🤖 From precise positioning to screwing and wire clipping, North is executing complex, contact-rich tasks using its tactile feedback. This is much more than basic automation, it is a real-world demonstration of what dexterous hands combined with tactile AI can achieve. The robot actually uses its sensors to feel the components, ensuring everything is aligned perfectly for each step of the assembly. We are seeing a major shift here, moving from robots that just follow code to machines that can actually feel their way through a task.
