@LeGrove Has anyone ever figured out what happened to Arsenal after that Bayern game? We were sublime during that stretch, and have been unwatchable since.

Arsenal hammered Bayern Munich with no Odegaard, Mikel Merino up front, and our third-choice left back. PSG were held by 9th place Newcastle in the CL. They also lost to 10-man Bayern, Sporting, and drew with Bilbao. They're 1 point ahead of Lens in Ligue 1, begging to have the game with them postponed so they can focus on CL. City are 9 points behind Arsenal in EPL after drawing to Forest and West Ham in the last two weeks. They were also hammered by a meek Madrid team that doesn't like running... who, incidentally, were smashed by Arsenal last season with Declan scoring. Questioning Declan Rice, honestly. We've lost 4 games in 50. He'll be up for a Balon d'Or if we win Champions League.

You can't try to limit a team PSG, Bayern, City or Barcelona with this, they'd find solutions with quality. This is where I have problems with Rice (if people think he's as elite on the ball). He hasn't shown that level of control or tempo in his game. I don't think anyone saw Pep drawing up a 4-2-4 to limit Arsenal's progression but it's no secret that Saliba and Gabriel aren't elite on the ball. Arne Slot did something similar at the Emirates. He forced Arsenal to play through their center backs and man-marked Zubimendi. They didn't progress easily in that game. You need quality in this moment asides structure. Life without Ødegaard...

@kshahrooz Without armed resistance from within (call it a civil war), the best you can hope for is a series of incremental changes over decades, en route to an eventual "perestroika".

I don't think I've been shy about criticizing Pahlavi. But the White House's position that an IRGC figure is preferable to Pahlavi (or an opposition coalition that includes Pahlavi) is a real betrayal of Iranian people who thought America had their back.
Dasha Burns@DashaBurns

WATCH: I joined @Morning_Joe to discuss my latest @politico reporting that the Trump administration is eyeing an insider in Iran, not Reza Pahlavi, as a potential partner. “We are looking for the Delcy Rodríguez of Iran,” one official told me. The thinking: avoid regime collapse and instead work with a power broker inside the system, even one tied to the IRGC.

@fkhanage This team doesn't need another workhorse, it needs an injection of creativity. Our attack is nowhere near adequate.

Said in January that we should’ve responded to Guehi and Semenyo signings with a big boy move of our own; Wharton or Anderson. We need a CM and I would love rapid speed and power in our attack this summer.

@onemaskedgunner No coincidence though: we faced this season Liverpool twice, City twice and United twice - which of those do you reckon we dominated? The Bayern one we did, but we haven't been the same since that day.

@Side2Step @OsmanZtheGooner Well you're wrong cause for one a fit Jesus was never a top 5 itw And didn't the current balon d'or winner have years off form? Players dont just get bad over night

Saka is not immune to criticism, he is having his worse season since he started with us and lost some of the explosiveness in his game after that hamstring issues (also no rest). But he is the difference maker for us and I have full trust in him to play a vital role still.

@OsmanZtheGooner If Only Madueke Was That Good. He Would Have Been Fully Counted On But Very Low IQ. Let’s Play Dowman Next Time But Believe Me, It Wouldn’t Have Changed Nothing In A System Where Wingers Are Supposed To Defend 80% Of The Time. Why Couldn’t We Assert Dominance Like Them

@OsmanZtheGooner Counting on him being his old self next season would be similar to going into last season without a striker because "a fit Jesus is top 5 in the world".

@OsmanZtheGooner I'd definitely say he *was* a difference maker. "He can’t become a bad player overnight" - well he has been an "okay" player this season, and you'll struggle to find examples of attackers fully bouncing back from such a long period being below their best.

@Side2Step @YankeeGunner Yes, but the reading of it by others underplays the lack of technical security and composure. The media critique is akin to telling a non-swimmer to shape up, stop paddling and start swimming.

This has been a very, very, very poor second half characterized by an astonishing lack of technical security and composure on the ball. Unfortunately, it’s not the first time we’ve seen this recently. The Brighton and Chelsea games had worrying periods like this as well.

Throwback Iran
Throwback Iran@Tarikh_Eran·
This 1 minute clip literally sums up Iran in the past 47 years. Iranians were celebrating an ancient pre islamic chaharshanbe soori festival in peace before islamist IRGC savages came and started open firing on people. These zombies hate us and our culture.
