Engaging in tropes and images that a decade ago would have only been found in the Daily Stormer is poison. Dehumanizing migrants, many of whom are desperate, is poison. Tweaking the algorithm so as to turbocharge every insane and racist conspiracy theory has nothing to do with free speech. And it is poison. It just is. If you observe him daily and don't see anything wrong with what he puts out there, I'm afraid I won't be able to change your mind.

Elon Musk is a despicable human being. Whatever good his companies have done for the world pale in comparison to the poison he injects into the world daily.

این رفتار ریشه در تئوری اشتباه آنها دارد. تئوری سامانه‌ی پهلوی (که افرادی مانند کیانی هم آشکارا بیانش می‌کنند) بر پایه‌ی دوقطبی کردن جامعه بنا شده است. از یک جهت، این تئوری قابل فهم بود. از آنجا که پهلوی در تمام عمر سیاسی‌اش دستاورد مهمی نداشت و دیگر چهره‌های اپوزیسیون نقش پررنگ‌تر و مؤثرتری در رهبری ایفا می‌کردند، تنها راهی که برای برجسته کردن او می‌دیدند، دوقطبی کردن فضا بود. به همین دلیل تلاش کردند (و تا حدی هم موفق شدند) در ذهن بخشی از مردم، رهبران دیگر اپوزیسیون را (که از نظر هوش، توانایی و صداقت برتر از پهلوی بودند) در قطب رژیم قرار دهند تا پهلوی به‌عنوان تنها رهبر واقعی دیده شود. اما محدودیت این تئوری این بود که با تخریب و حذف سایر نیروهای اپوزیسیون، خودشان از نیروی اجتماعی و سیاسی کافی برای رسیدن به هدف اصلی، یعنی کسب قدرت، محروم شدند. در این مورد هم تصورشان این بود که ترامپ و نتانیاهو تاج را بر سر پهلوی خواهند گذاشت. اما این محاسبه هم اشتباه از آب درآمد. آنها نیز به این نتیجه رسیدند که نمی‌توان روی پهلویِ بی عرضه به‌عنوان فردی کارآمد حساب باز کرد. ظاهراً حتی ترجیح می‌دادند با احمدی‌نژاد کار کنند تا با پهلوی.

It is good to see interest in the representativeness and methodology of the survey. However, such assessments should be based on the evidence and procedures presented in the report, particularly in its methodology section. Unfortunately, at #GAMAAN, we have become accustomed to criticism that overlooks key details of our research, so let me clarify a few points. Psiphon, one of the main VPNs used in Iran, is free, as are other VPN services that collaborated in GAMAAN’s sampling, including Lantern and MahsaNet. As noted in the report, research conducted by an Iran-based think tank indicates that approximately 85% of internet users in Iran use VPNs, while internet penetration stands at around 90% of the population. These figures substantially weaken the claim that VPN-based recruitment necessarily restricts the survey to a small, privileged, and unrepresentative segment of society. The methodology section also includes detailed demographic tables, weighting procedures, and external validation checks. These should be examined before making claims about the survey’s representativeness. Our research is not without limitations, and we have been transparent about them. Nevertheless, over the past several years, GAMAAN’s findings have often captured the mood of Iranian society more accurately than conventional surveys. This is one reason our work has been recognized by independent scholars and professional organizations such as WAPOR. Unfortunately, criticism of GAMAAN - from groups ranging from reformists and monarchists to the MEK - too often takes the form of attacks driven by discomfort with evidence that does not fit their preferred political narratives. Serious methodological criticism is always welcome, but it should begin with a careful reading of the report and a willingness to consider evidence that may challenge our assumptions about Iranian society.

The latest #GAMAAN survey report, “Iranians’ Attitudes Toward the 2026 Protests and [13-Day] War,” is now available online. 📊Full report: gamaan.org/wp-content/upl… The survey was conducted across #Iran over seven days, from June 20 to 27, 2026, with the voluntary collaboration of the @PsiphonInc, @getLantern, and @MahsaNet VPN tools. The findings in this report are based on a weighted sample of 31,450 respondents inside Iran. The results are calibrated to the demographic profile of literate residents of Iran aged 15 and above. For estimates referring to this target population, the survey reports an approximate 95% credibility level with a conservative credibility interval of ±3 percentage points.

At a time when authoritarianism is rising around the world, and some try to poke at the edges of our hard-won freedoms to see how much can be eroded without backlash, we must draw a firm line in the sand and declare that we will resist all backsliding on our democratic rights.

By what possible definition is this "extortion", @SMohyeddin ? You don't really believe that it's extortion for a donor to withhold donations to a cause with which they disagree. But you say it because saying offensive things about Jews who disagree with you is normalized now.
