@NikTek I'm pretty sure the actual ray tracing option in settings does nothing. Ray Tracing is only enabled when Ray Reconstruction is enabled, so when you disable Ray Reconstruction it disables ray tracing completely which is why there's such a big performance boost

Here's the performance tank again when enabling Ray Regeneration in Crimson Desert after updating AMD drivers to the latest Adrenalin 26.3.1 Safe to say that I won't be turning this on for the rest of my gameplay. If you have an AMD GPU how is your performance with Ray Regeneration turned on?

Notice how it's also only a small portion because of the camera angle and not the entire bench being turned bluer than my profile pic. Even in your photo example it retains it's color from the warm glow of lights around it, which it should also be doing in the game hence there's candles and lamps all around it.

@CrimsonDesert_ Make an option to turn off chromatic abberation and turn off whatever god awful sharpening filter is on at all times. Even at native 4K DLAA the game looks grainy and harsh to look at.

@BMKing23 The game looks horrible in motion ngl, tons of shimmering and chromatic aberration even at 4K.

#CrimsonDesert includes options for DLSS 4 (Preset K) and L 4.5 (Presets L and M) in the menu. I think this is the first time a game does this, and it’s great. I really wish more games would start doing this in the future.

@Mcreation86 @duckwaltz @opinali You have no clue what you're on about man. AC Shadows is very solid in terms of lighting and color grading relative to what you'd expect in real life. DLSS 5 just shifts the entire scene blue & overexposed which is not natural unless you have overcast/cloudy weather.

@duckwaltz @Skillful__ @opinali Or maybe it understands that material reflects the sky so it should behave like that, if you watch closely comparisons between raytracing and path tracing one of the major things is ambient light plays a major role in lighting tinting blue. Just watch crimson desert comparisons

@duckwaltz @Mcreation86 @opinali Yup, exactly. And the fact that it basically turns every scene into overcast weather, and shifts the color tone completely blue and overexposes everything, akin to what you'd see in a "RTX 5090 4K PHOTOREALISTIC GTA 5 MOD" on youtube basically reaffirms this.

@Mcreation86 @Skillful__ @opinali The fact that it looks so similar to a stock photo (which itself was likely fed into the training materials) reinforces the notion that it's just a filter and not some "awesome" other thing.

@BMKing23 The game also suffers from really bad AO ghosting, its extremely distracting to look at in motion tbh, hopefully it gets fixed

Ray Tracing in #DeathStranding2PC is quite limited, which is expected since the game wasn’t originally built with RT in mind and this is the first implementation on the Decima Engine. RT reflections only apply to some opaque surfaces, bodies of water and tar, and they still lean on standard SSR underneath. The High RT setting uses High SSR as a base, which lets it slightly outperform the heavier Very High SSR in many scenes, but it also shows more noise, especially with upscaling. RTAO, as usual is very subtle visually and doesn’t seem to impact performance at least in the scenes I tested. It mainly just bumps up VRAM usage.
