His diss track pushed racist tropes: “street sh*tters,” mocking accents, ridiculing our language, “your language sounds like it came from a mumble rap community.” Those slurs are still used today because he helped normalize racism against Indians online. And even the Christchurch shooter echoed his meme culture with “Subscribe to PewDiePie.” This wasn’t edgy humor, it was prejudice made mainstream.
