Last company I was at got bought out by a Venture Capital firm and then everything was just about profits, which is why they brought in a new CIO who was all about the short-term and was squeezing out all the staff who knew anything about anything and left the most experienced Directors doing the operational work of 5 or more employees. He got short term kudos for driving down costs in IT and IS, but then was promptly fired six months after I left when they couldn't keep things running reliably or securely, surprise, surprise. 🙄

@Tesla_PNW I like that - and we used to do that. Then PE happened. And not it’s all about saving money versus making sense.

Those are only on our workplace iPhones. Personal phone are not allowed to have any workplace apps on. IT security policy disallows any workplace apps on personal devices, and blocks login on any personal devices. We hand out workplace devices to anyone who needs them and manage them tightly in terms of what apps can be on them and how they are used for workplace only functionality. We believe in full separation of work and home tech and life.

@ntbrown01 @TechOperator Why would they buy a phone for him lmao? This is the IT job/industry - it's either he installs that shit on his phone and makes sure he's always on the clock or they fire him. Engineers, managers, leadership, etc are just kinda expected to be 24/7 and monitoring things.

Yea, they decided to start all that when they killed off the ability to use The Apple Mail app and Calendar in iOS. Instantly trashed my productivity and work flow. Then they wanted to root my iPhone and iPad. Eventually they made it so you could not run any of the tools we all relied on. Now we moved to the google suite and they managed to F up IMAP mail access. Then they decided we were only going to use Web apps. What a cluster F. And googles web apps are garbage, and chrome is as well.
