5 reasons why 2026 will print:
1- "Chaos is a ladder"
The world is being disrupted.
AI creative to ai reports to ai employees
But what ISNT changing?
People will still buy stuff.
How they find it might change.
Maybe we get new ad units and new ad channels.
But Humans have birthdays, christmas, they need to eat, they want to try new things.
Maybe SAAS will go to zero.
But if you are a brand- do you care?
Physical goods are LINDY
They are here forever and ever.
2- Chaos on one hand, peace on the other.
We are through the tariff battles.
We are through the 2022 recession and credit crunch.
We are back in a 2019 mindset.
The game changed A LOT in the past 6 years.
Now, the world is changing.
But not for brands.
We will have stability this year.
3- "Death to dropshippers"
Direct from china shipments are literally at a ten year low.
In 2024 1.4 BILLION shipment crossed the border under de minimis. That is now ZERO.
Temu, shein, dropshippers are out of the ad auction.
Course sellers have moved on to selling AFFILATE courses
We used to fight 10,000 faceless clones ripping us all off or running true scams
now that energy is spent trying to SELL OUR STUFF

4- AI boom
While AI is wrecking lots of business models and the market- people are building it to HELP US
We are the end buyers of b2b saas
so we get cool new tools and efficiencies
We get cost savings and big unlocks
while legacy players struggle
Add in the fact that big tech stocks rip, people feel richer
blue collar workers are building data centers, they feel richer
More money for workers, more efficiencies for the business owners, only people getting screwed are the legacy players
5- A maturing digital world
The game we have all been playing for 10+ years is now the ONLY game in town
There arent legacy players who are better than us.
Their moats arent keeping us out, its trapping them in
We are quicker, better, faster, AND NOW more experienced than the brands who came before
we are paid media natives
we dont waste money on PR or parties
the ecom native brands of 2018 that got laughed at are now the only ones left

“Ecom feels dead” Well.. why shouldn’t it? What is happening in Ecom right now that is ground breaking or exciting? We survived tariffs. Covid crashes, cash crunches, and broken ad platforms. It’s so dead- It was a near civil war when a new ad platform came out (applovin) There are two new case studies- Gruns and comfort But what else should people be excited about? Ai is coming. Ads will get cheaper and more personalized. Maybe teams get smaller. But what else? What is happening in Ecom that is new, unique, and exciting?
