The Trump administration announced this week it will shut down six of eight U.S. Forest Service research facilities in California as part of a major national reorganization that could leave the state underequipped to manage escalating wildfire and drought threats. sfchronicle.com/california-wil…

It’s literally an unelected board called CARB that places fees and random taxes on gas for Californians. Thank you Newsom. MSM knows about this, we all do and no we didn’t vote for it.
CBS Sacramento@CBSSacramento

For years, California leaders accused oil companies of price gouging at the pump, but a state investigation found no evidence of that. Instead, a CBS News California investigation found what's really driving the highest gas prices in the U.S. cbsloc.al/3PPOHwW

@_Z__ @LA_Multi_Fam Whatever amount convinces investors to build homes instead of just park their capital in S&P 500. -S&P is returning 10% to 15% per year over the past decade so investors need to get returns of 15% to 20% *per year* after paying wages before they will return to building homes.

The Yimby movement has been ineffective because many of its members don’t actually believe in profit. In places like Los Angeles politicians have eroded the ability for investors and developers to profit on housing. Housing takes enormous capital risk and time. So less and less developers are willing to get out of the ground in LA. ADUs were good for a while, but now a lot of the smaller builders are also getting tired of the weekly “tenant protections” popping up. So they’re also quietly exiting the market. If Yimby’s want to get results they have to fully accept profit as the main driver for getting meaningful housing built. And to do that they need to reject the anti landlord / investor movement that is growing in LA and other left leaning cities. Upzoning looks great on paper and for the polls, but it won’t be enough to bring back the investors and builders.

The proposal to convert Alcatraz back to a federal penitentiary doesn't make sense fiscally (high operating cost of an island facility in an expensive area) or economically (destroying a popular tourist attraction). thehill.com/homenews/admin…

Running from Oregon is not an option. The more of us that leave, the more they occupy. Once the Conservative base is completely decimated in this state, the Democrat machine will push into the next. In the end, there is no place to run. If I am the last, I will stand my ground.

One of the things that bug me about how he uses language is this insistence that *he* is going to build all the homes. In fact, if we are going to build hundreds of thousands or millions of new homes in CA, we will require the cooperation of countless private investors, developers, contractors, material suppliers and so on.
Tom Steyer@TomSteyer

The people who keep California running — teachers, nurses, child care providers, and bus drivers — can't afford housing in the communities they serve. The solution is simple: We stopped building homes. I'm going to build them again.

Guys. Its’s more believable to me that Jack Murphy would give up that WSO’a location to Iranians than report his overall safe status, if it meant he would get attention. That guy is a virus to the community.

If you grew up in San Fran, then or now, you should know most of America is nothing like northern Cali and you grew up in what is pretty much peak culture. Same for any big city, esp big cities in blue states. Really distorts what the other half of Americas population live like

@RachelBitecofer The X-ers in the Bay grew up in a very diverse place and were better for the experience. Not to say we didn’t have ignorant bigots as well though.

A big part of why CA is so fucked is that we don’t have a real opposition party I hate the CA Dems so much so that I’d even consider voting R for a state or local race if they had literally anything to offer They don’t! Not to any thinking person at least. They’re MAGA crazies!
