@kazetherapper @NatCon2022 @800lbFollower Might want to look up blue-green algae. It’s highly toxic. The reason for the algae is that the last renovation, they changed the input source from city water to a nearby tidal basin in 2012. It’s looked like shit ever since.

@NatCon2022 @800lbFollower Algae isnt dangerous its a sign of healthy water quality. many algae like filamentous algae you see floating in ponds and stuff is actually highly beneficial. the most dangerous thing in the water is the bird poop or Cyanobacteria. thats a never ending issue with a stale pond.

Obama admin spent $34 mil and 18 months on a FAILED attempt to stop the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool from leaking. Biden proposed $301 mil and 3 years for repairs. Trump admin is adding an industrial swimming pools coating for $2 mil. Imagine being angry. 😒

Trans people DO NOT have to tell you they're trans unless the have romantic intentions with you.. That means if you, as a straight man ask me out on a date, I'm not obliged to tell you until AFTER the date when l've decided if have romantic interest in you or not

@BRICSinfo We told them we would give them enriched uranium early in the negotiations, but now we need to steal it? If we wanted it, we’d take it, we don’t need some ridiculous scheme

@bitrush52 @mk_hostile17 @LeilaniDowding Both and it’s again irrelevant, the point is made by the fact satellites are launched in factors of compared to 50+ years ago. You can try but it’s an indisputable fact. Launch costs slashed.

@bitrush52 @mk_hostile17 @LeilaniDowding Utter drivel. Contemporary space vehicles now heavily feature advanced composites, specialized alloys, nanomaterials, and smart coatings to improve performance and sustainability.

@esf69 @mk_hostile17 @LeilaniDowding False premise. Yet, the materials used today to get into space are the same. Stainless steel and aluminum. Some carbon is applied in places it can be, but ultimately the same. The Artimus is only 2280 KGs less than Apollo 13

@bitrush52 @mk_hostile17 @LeilaniDowding Materials science has progressed massively - much lighter, stronger compounds today. Development is made cheaper by huge computing resources. Both contribute to better fuel efficiency.

@bitrush52 @mk_hostile17 @LeilaniDowding Lol. Just look at the number of satellites put in orbit. Thats because of decreasing costs of launching rockets. You’re absolutely clueless dude.

@esf69 @mk_hostile17 @LeilaniDowding Not to mention, the same budget we used back then, adjust for inflation, is spent on launching 100’s of satellites and the development of telescopes and other scientific instrumentation. Going to the moon was not a priority

@bitrush52 @mk_hostile17 @LeilaniDowding I’ll repeat - technology is naturally deflationary. It’s not just TVs, look at progression in smart phones etc. Technological progress should have made going to moon cheaper. Assuming we were ever able to go in first place.

@bitrush52 @mk_hostile17 @LeilaniDowding Wrong comparison. A 50 inch tv cost $10k+ 20 years ago, you can get one for less than $1k now. Technology is deflationary by nature.

@esf69 @mk_hostile17 @LeilaniDowding You were able to buy a 3 bedroom house for 15k in 1967. It cost ~28 billion for the Project Apollo (1960-1973) How much do you think that would cost today? There’s your answer as to why.

@mk_hostile17 @LeilaniDowding If it’s that simple how come we can’t currently repeat it? Despite gargantuan technological progress! Lol 🤡

Can the photographers in the room explain to me how the sun is behind the earth in the photo but the dark side that is this image is somehow very well lit. This doesn’t make sense. You can clearly tell the sun is just over the horizon on the bottom right of the earth in this photo.
