Not to jump on the bandwagon, but I’ve been a Japanophile since our Japan lesson in the 4th grade, but more so when I started learning Budo Taijutsu and minoring in Japanese at the Academy. Spent two weeks wandering Honshu after graduation. The cherry was living in Okinawa.

@thecriticaldom I’ve got this! My dad and I used to play it and my son used the concept to make a similar civil war game for a class project.

Rather entertaining that Gygax, Arneson, and Wesely would be introduced to wargaming through this particular game. While WotC tries to walk back several years of imprecations, it's doubtful they'll take the lesson that someone has to play each side for the game to happen.

With so many people here interested in sake, I’m starting to think seriously: maybe I should come to America. I could do sake tastings, talks, and workshops on Japanese fermentation culture, tradition, history, warm sake, food pairing, and traditional wooden tubs etc.

@m_takewaka I lived in Okinawa for a few years, but I’ve visited Honshu and Hokkaido a few times on vacations. My absolute favorite country to visit.

@MUKIDEZA2 I learned to use them at my favorite Chinese restaurant as a kid, but Japanese class later in life took it to the next level teaching me how to cut a marshmallow in half using chopsticks.

An acquaintance of mine got mad in Sears in the 1980s because there were “too many types of refrigerators”. He said Marxist efficiency would produce just one type of fridge which would be way easier to deal with. I leave it to you to explain why he’s wrong.
